Server Pinger Fixer is a Fabric mod that stops the multiplayer list from stalling when you refresh it again and again. It runs on the client side only. If you went looking for a server pinger fixer mod, this is the one by JustAlittleWolf, and it changes exactly one thing, how servers in the list get pinged.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.18 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What it changes

Vanilla pinging gets stuck loading after just a few presses of the Refresh button. The mod raises the thread count used for pinging servers and clears the thread pool when it is overloaded. The result is a list that keeps loading even when you spam Refresh.

  • Recovers from an overloaded thread pool instead of hanging.

Installation

  1. 1.Set up Fabric for your Minecraft release, following how to install Fabric if you have not used it before.
  2. 2.Get the mod file from Modrinth and place it in the mods folder inside your game directory (.minecraft/mods by default). The mod installation guide covers the folder layout.
  3. 3.Launch with the Fabric profile and open the multiplayer screen.
  4. 4.Press Refresh a few times. Entries should keep resolving instead of freezing.

Trade-offs

The scope is narrow. The mod only affects the server list, and the server side is unsupported. Only Fabric builds exist, so Forge and NeoForge players need something else. For Forge 1.8.9 the creator points to Server List Buffer Fixer on Modrinth.

Questions about Server Pinger Fixer.

4 questions

Does Server Pinger Fixer lower my in-game ping?

No. It improves how servers in the multiplayer list are pinged, by raising the thread count used for those pings. That makes the list load more reliably, especially when you press Refresh repeatedly. It does not change the connection once you are inside a world.

Does Server Pinger Fixer work on a multiplayer server?

It is a client-side mod. The client is required and the server side is unsupported, so it belongs in the mods folder of the machine you play from.

Does Server Pinger Fixer work on Forge?

No. The mod is built for Fabric only. For Forge 1.8.9, the creator links an alternative called Server List Buffer Fixer on Modrinth.

How do I install Server Pinger Fixer?

Install Fabric for your Minecraft release, put the mod file in the mods folder inside your game directory, then launch with the Fabric profile. The newest build needs no other mods, so nothing else has to be added.
