What Sleep works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Loaders | Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, Quilt |
| Minecraft versions | 1.19, 1.19.3, 1.20.6, 1.21.11, 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.3 |
| Environment | Client, Server |
Sleep is a minecraft sleep datapack that also ships as a mod for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. It lets you decide how many players must be in bed to skip the night, instead of everyone. It is required on the server, and installing it on the client is optional.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric, Forge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.19 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally 5555ff-lib.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally 5555ff-lib.
Installing the mod or the datapack
New to loaders? The guides on installing Minecraft mods on Java and setting up Fabric cover the steps.
The Modrinth page also lists a plain datapack build, separate from the loader builds, as the second route.
Configuration
Run `/trigger sleep.config` in game to open the settings. For the tick accelerate setting, `function-permission-level` has to be set to `3`. On 1.20.1, settings are changed with scoreboard commands, such as `&amount_to_sleep` for the number of sleepers and `&time_control` for night skip versus time warp.
The trade-off is that Sleep must be present on the server, and the tick accelerate setting needs a raised function permission level.
Questions about Sleep.
3 questions
How do I make only some players need to sleep to skip the night?
The number of required sleepers is a config setting, and the default is 1, so a single player in bed skips the night. On 1.20.1 it is set with the scoreboard command /scoreboard players set &amount_to_sleep sleep.config, followed by the player count. AFK players can be excluded when AFK Announcer is also installed.
Is Sleep a mod or a datapack?
Both. It is published as a plain datapack and as mod files for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt.
Does everyone need Sleep installed on multiplayer?
No. It is required on the server, and installing it on the client is optional.
