Status Effect Timer is a Fabric mod that puts the remaining time of each effect on the vanilla HUD icons. It runs on the player's side only and the newest release needs no other mods. This status effect timer mod spares you the trip into the inventory just to see how long Haste has left.

What it shows
The timer sits on the vanilla indicator. Time is shown in seconds, switches to minutes with an "m" past 60 seconds, and to hours with an "h" past 60 minutes. If an effect has an amplifier, as in Haste II, that is overlaid too.
Infinite effects are handled by era. Before 1.19.4, anything longer than 32147 ticks (roughly 25 minutes) counted as infinite and showed as "**". From 1.19.4, truly infinite effects show "∞" and the tick limit is gone.
The design is deliberately narrow. magicus built it because other timer mods replace large parts of vanilla code and drop the vanilla basics. This one adds numbers and nothing else, so there are no settings to tune and no layout options.
Installation
- 1.Install Fabric for the Minecraft release you play.
- 2.Put the mod's .jar file in the mods folder, following the mod installation guide.
- 3.Launch with the Fabric profile and check any active effect icon for the timer.
Known incompatibilities
- 'Slight' Gui Modifications stops this mod from working when its fluidStatusEffects option is enabled.
- Giselbaer's Durability Viewer also draws a timer on effect icons. Disable its effect time feature to avoid clutter.
- In Feather, open General > Vanilla Effect Overlay and select Off or Bar.

Does Status Effect Timer have a config screen?
No. The mod provides no settings and requires none. It overlays the remaining time and any amplifier on the vanilla status effect icons and stops there. If you want a different layout or custom styling, this mod will not offer it.
How does Status Effect Timer show infinite effects?
From 1.19.4 onward, infinite effects are marked with a "∞" symbol. On older releases, any effect longer than 32147 ticks, roughly 25 minutes, was treated as infinite and marked "**".
Can I use Status Effect Timer on a multiplayer host?
No. The mod is needed on the player's side only, and installing it on a dedicated host is unsupported. Install it in your own Fabric setup and it overlays timers on the effect icons you see.
Why do two timers show on my effect icons?
Giselbaer's Durability Viewer also draws a timer on the status effect icon. Turn off the effect time feature in Durability Viewer and only this mod's timer remains. Feather users should set Vanilla Effect Overlay to Off or Bar.
