Superflat Dimensions is a datapack collection by Klinbee that turns the Overworld, Nether and End into superflat terrain while keeping every biome and structure. The superflat dimensions datapack also ships as a mod for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt. The mod is required on the server, and the client side is optional.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric, Forge, NeoForge and Quilt: Minecraft 1.20 to 1.21.10. The newest build needs no dependencies.
Two ways to install
- 1.Mod route: drop the file for your loader into the mods folder and launch with that loader's profile. The mod installation guide covers the basics.
- 2.Datapack route: take the plain datapack (it covers 1.19 to 1.21.10) and add it on the world creation screen.
- 3.Create the world like normal and do not use the Superflat preset.
Classic or with foliage
Classic Superflat Dimensions follows the Classic preset. It gives three blocks of terrain and one block of bedrock at y=0, with no trees, foliage, caves or ores. What remains is biomes and structures, which makes for a bare but oddly interesting survival challenge.
The regular Superflat Dimensions pack is exactly like Classic but adds trees and other biome features. Both packs cover all three dimensions.
Why not a preset, and what it conflicts with
Datapack superflat presets only allow a single biome, and world preset changes to structures or features apply globally.
Before 1.21.2, phantoms spawn only above Y=63, and most aquatic mobs spawn only from about Y=50 to Y=63.
Questions about Superflat Dimensions.
3 questions
How do I make a superflat world with multiple biomes?
Vanilla superflat presets only allow a single biome. Superflat Dimensions replaces the default world generation so every biome and structure appears on flat terrain.
Does Superflat Dimensions work with biome mods?
No. The datapacks do not work with biome mods because of limits in how datapacks handle world generation. Terrain mods also tend to override each other, and this one behaves the same way. Pick either Superflat Dimensions or a biome mod for a given world.
Does Superflat Dimensions affect the Nether and End?
Yes. The collection applies superflat terrain to the Overworld, Nether and End, and it keeps all the biomes and structures in each. The Classic pack has no trees, caves or ores, while the regular pack adds trees and other biome features.
