The TMCraft mod is a Fabric add-on for Cobblemon that gives TMs crafting recipes. It must be installed on both client and server. It follows Gen IX rules, so a TM is consumed after use.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 1.21.1. The newest build requires Cobblemon; some builds for 1.21.1 need no dependencies.
Blank discs and recipes
Blank discs are the ingredients for crafting TMs, and the Move Upgrade Smithing Template is used when upgrading tiers. That template replaced the Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template from release 1.3.0. Since release 1.4.2, recipes exist for every TM of every generation.

Move items and villagers
- TM Move Items teach moves a Pokémon learns through TMs.
- Egg Move Items teach moves learned by breeding, and Tutor Move Items teach moves learned from Move Tutors.
- Star Move Items teach moves a Pokémon is not meant to learn. The author calls them cheating.
- Move Recorders convert into the matching TM, Egg, Tutor or Star item when used.
- Move Tutor villagers sell Tutor Move Items from release 1.4.4. Pokémon Breeder villagers sell Egg Move Items from release 1.4.6.
Settings and origins
One game rule, `consumeMoveItemOnUse`, defaults to `true` and controls whether TM, Egg, Tutor and Star items are used up. The separate TMCraft Missing Recipes data pack adds recipes the mod leaves out on purpose, and server admins can use it as a template. The author suggests EMI for browsing recipes.
TMCraft is heavily motivated by Dragomordor's SimpleTMs, and most of the heavy lifting there is Dragomordor's. It drops the feature where fainted wild Pokémon drop TMs, and its TM textures are based on Cobblemon assets. Voldir contributed the French translation.

How do I install TMCraft?
Install Fabric for a supported release, then place the TMCraft file and Cobblemon in the mods folder inside the .minecraft directory. Launch with the Fabric profile.
Does TMCraft work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, but it is required on both sides. The server host and every player must have the mod installed, and Cobblemon too where the build needs it. Server admins can also add the TMCraft Missing Recipes data pack for extra recipes.
Do wild Pokémon drop TMs in TMCraft?
No. TMCraft removed the drop feature found in SimpleTMs. TMs are crafted from recipes that use blank discs instead. Move Tutor villagers sell Tutor Move Items and Pokémon Breeder villagers sell Egg Move Items.
