Wizards (RPG Series) is a magic-class mod for Minecraft Java on Fabric and NeoForge, current through version 26.2. It adds wands, staves, and craftable spell books split across arcane, fire, and frost schools, and it needs the mod running on both client and server to work in multiplayer.
What Wizards adds to Minecraft Java
Starting gear is a basic wand or staff with one attached spell, fueled by craftable Runes the way arrows fuel a bow. Finding or building a Spell Binding Table (ringed with bookshelves, the same way an enchanting table works) unlocks a full spell book for one of three schools.
- Tome of Arcane: focused single-target spells for solitary or tightly grouped enemies.
- Tome of Fire: area-of-effect spells for burning down groups at range.
- Tome of Frost: slowing and shielding spells alongside direct damage.
- Tiered wizard robes and staves with configurable item attribute bonuses.
- Spell-casting enchantments such as Spell Infinity, Spell Power, and Spell Haste.
- Wizard Towers with a Wizard Merchant villager, generated in existing villages.
- Magic equipment injected into dungeon loot tables.
Required mods and installation
Wizards will not load on its own. It needs four other Fabric or NeoForge mods installed alongside it: Armor Model API, Runes, Spell Engine, and Structure Pool API. Install Fabric or NeoForge first, then add Wizards and its four dependencies to the same mods folder on every client and on the server.
Better Combat is not required, but the creator recommends it for weapon mechanics that pair better with wand and staff swings. It is worth adding on the same install if Better Combat is not already in the modpack.
Supported loaders and current versions
Both loaders received a matching 3.1.2 release build for version 26.2 on September 5, 2026, so Fabric and NeoForge players are on equal footing right now. The project's version history stretches back to 1.19, but older releases stopped receiving new features once the RPG Series moved to the year.drop numbering, so a legacy world on 1.20.1 gets a stable mod, not the current one.
The RPG Series and Elemental Wizards
ZsoltMolnarrr (also publishing as daedelus_dev on CurseForge) builds Wizards as one entry in a wider Spell Engine RPG Series that includes Archers, Paladins and Priests, Rogues and Warriors, Jewelry, Relics, and Arsenal. A separate CurseForge listing, Elemental Wizards (RPG Series Plus), adds more wizard-style classes on the same Spell Engine framework, but it comes from a different creator, Fichteee, and is not part of ZsoltMolnarrr's own series.

Questions about Wizards (RPG Series).
5 questions
How do I install Wizards RPG Series?
Install Fabric or NeoForge for your Minecraft Java version, then add Wizards plus its four required mods (Armor Model API, Runes, Spell Engine, and Structure Pool API) to the mods folder on every client and on the server before joining a world.
What other mods are required for Wizards RPG Series to work?
Four: Armor Model API, Runes, Spell Engine, and Structure Pool API. Wizards will fail to load without all four present alongside it, since it builds its wands, runes, and spell casting on top of them.
Does Wizards RPG Series work with Forge?
No. Modrinth lists builds for Fabric and NeoForge only, both current through version 26.2. Forge users would need a different magic mod or a NeoForge migration.
Is Elemental Wizards (RPG Series Plus) the same mod as Wizards RPG Series?
No. Elemental Wizards (RPG Series Plus) is a separate CurseForge project by a different creator, Fichteee, built on the same Spell Engine framework. It is a related companion class, not an official expansion from Wizards' own creator.
Which Minecraft version does Wizards RPG Series support?
The project covers releases from 1.19 through the current 26.2, with Fabric and NeoForge both current on 26.2 as of the September 5, 2026 build. Earlier version lines still work but no longer receive new features.
