CrazyAuctions is an auction house plugin from CrazyCrew. It runs on Paper, Purpur and Folia, with an older Spigot build, and it is needed on the server only.

Server software and versions

  • Folia: Minecraft 1.21 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally PlaceholderAPI.
  • Paper and Purpur: Minecraft 1.8.8 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally PlaceholderAPI.
  • Spigot: Minecraft 1.8.8 to 1.19.4, builds stopped after March 2023. The newest build needs no dependencies.

Installation

  1. 1.Download the build that matches your Minecraft version from Modrinth or Hangar.
  2. 2.Run at least Paper. The creator's own install notes name PaperMC as the minimum software.
  3. 3.Put the downloaded file in the plugins folder.
  4. 4.Restart the server.
  5. 5.Run /crazyauctions in game to open the plugin.

Players install nothing. They join with a normal client. For general steps, see the guide on installing plugins on a Paper or Spigot server.

Documentation and support

Setup details live on the CrazyCrew wiki at docs.crazycrew.us under CrazyAuctions. Questions the wiki does not answer go to the CrazyCrew Discord, which is where the creators handle support. Bugs are tracked on the GitHub issues page.

The same team makes CrazyCrates and CrazyEnchantments, which suit servers that want a matching set of plugins.

Trade-offs

The plugin sends anonymous usage statistics to bStats by default. You can switch this off by setting the value to false in the bStats folder.

Questions about CrazyAuctions.

4 questions

How do I install CrazyAuctions?

Download the build for your Minecraft version from Modrinth or Hangar, drop the file into the plugins folder of a Paper-based server, and restart. Then run /crazyauctions in game. Players do not need to install anything and can join with a normal client.

Does CrazyAuctions work on Folia?

Yes. Folia builds exist, and the newest one needs no dependencies, though PlaceholderAPI is listed as optional. Pick the Folia build that matches your Minecraft release from the Modrinth download page, restart the server after adding it to the plugins folder, and run /crazyauctions to confirm it loaded.

Does CrazyAuctions need PlaceholderAPI?

No. The newest builds require no dependencies, so CrazyAuctions starts without it. PlaceholderAPI is listed as optional only for the newest builds, covering Minecraft 26.1.2 to 26.2 on Paper, Purpur and Folia. Older builds on those platforms and the stopped Spigot build list no dependencies at all.

Is CrazyAuctions free and open source?

Yes. The code is on GitHub under the MIT licence, which allows use, modification and redistribution. The licence file carries a CrazyCrew copyright dated 2016-2023, and the Modrinth licence label also reads MIT. Source code and issue tracking both sit in the Crazy-Crew/CrazyAuctions repository.
