CustomCrafting adds an in-game GUI for building custom recipes on crafting tables, furnaces, blast furnaces, smokers, and smithing tables, without editing recipe JSON by hand. It runs on Paper, Spigot, Purpur, and Bukkit, and can toggle, override, or disable vanilla recipes outright. The stable 4.19.x line covers Minecraft 1.16.5 through 1.21.8; a separate v5 rewrite is in early alpha.
What CustomCrafting changes on your server
The plugin's editor GUI lets an admin define a recipe's ingredients, result, and workstation type in-game, then merge or copy NBT data from ingredients into the finished item. Extensions can run on recipe completion, and the plugin integrates with Oraxen, ItemsAdder, MMOItems, and MythicMobs so custom items from those plugins stay usable as recipe ingredients and update automatically when the source item changes.
Installation and dependencies
- Java 17 or newer
- Paper, Spigot, Purpur, or Bukkit 1.16.5 or newer
- WolfyUtils (required on every stable release)
- NBT-API (required from version 4.19.0 onward)
Put the CustomCrafting jar and its dependency jars into the plugins folder together and restart the server. Missing WolfyUtils or, on newer builds, NBT-API stops the plugin from loading rather than degrading gracefully.
Supported Minecraft versions and loaders
The stable release, 4.19.1.0, was published in September 2025 for Paper, Spigot, Purpur, and Bukkit, and its game-version range runs 1.16.5 through 1.21.8. WolfyScript is separately building a v5 rewrite in an early alpha channel, published June 2026, that adds an experimental Fabric build alongside Paper, Spigot, Purpur, and Bukkit, all currently pinned to Minecraft 26.2.
Questions about CustomCrafting.
5 questions
How do I install CustomCrafting?
Download the jar from Modrinth, drop it into your server's plugins folder along with its required dependency, and restart. The stable line needs WolfyUtils and NBT-API alongside it; without them the plugin will not load.
Does CustomCrafting work with Fabric?
Not for production use yet. WolfyScript is rewriting CustomCrafting in an early v5 alpha that adds Fabric alongside Paper and Spigot, but it is unfinished and only reaches Minecraft 26.2. Server owners should stay on the 4.19.x stable release for now.
Which Minecraft version does CustomCrafting support?
The stable 4.19.1.0 release covers Paper, Spigot, Purpur, and Bukkit from 1.16.5 through 1.21.8. A separate v5 alpha build targets the newer 26.2 release across the same server software plus an early Fabric port.
Does CustomCrafting need another plugin to run?
Yes. The stable release requires WolfyScript's own WolfyUtils library, and versions from 4.19.0 onward also require NBT-API. Both need to sit in the plugins folder next to CustomCrafting or the server will refuse to load it.
Is CustomCrafting safe to use?
CustomCrafting is open source under GPL-3.0-or-later, with the code hosted on WolfyScript's own GitHub. The free build carries every feature; a paid tier only speeds up how often you get new pre-built jars, not what the plugin can do.
