Duels Optimised is a duel plugin for Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, Folia and Purpur servers. It is a fork of the original Duels plugin with optimisation work and extra features. It handles 1v1 and party fights, kits, arenas, queues and betting, and it is needed on the server only. Players join as normal and install nothing.
Server software and versions
- Bukkit, Paper and Spigot: Minecraft 1.14 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Folia and Purpur: Minecraft 1.15.1 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it adds
The core system is the familiar one. Kits, arenas, queues and queue signs are created with in-game commands. Winners gain items and money from bets, ratings follow an Elo system, and players can check stats with /duel stats, see the top ten with /duel top and watch any fight with /spectate. The fork layers these on top:
- A replay system for watching finished duels.
- A per-player kit editor and a custom kit creator.
- NvN queues and party duels, where only the party leader can send or accept requests.
- Rounds, with a two-round option, plus boxing (1.8 pvp) and a Loka kit option.
- MiniMessage support, customisable fireworks and delayed commands.
- An auto update feature and extra placeholders for players in queue and playing.
Installation and extensions
- 1.Put the plugin file in the plugins folder and restart the server.
- 2.Create kits, arenas and queues with the in-game commands.
- 3.To add an extension, drop it in plugins/Duels/extensions/ and start the server again.
Two official extensions exist. DuelsArenaRegen resets arenas and also clears entities, and the leaderboard extension shows holograms without needing a dependency. A party extension is also listed, but a third party maintains it. PlaceholderAPI is a supported plugin for displaying wins and losses. DuelZones, which limits duels to chosen areas, requires WorldGuard.
Compatibility
The plugin lists support for CombatTagPlus, PvPManager and CombatLogX, which stop dueling while in combat. mcMMO skills can be disabled in a duel, Factions and FactionsUUID avoid power loss, and MyPet pets are kept out. DeluxeCombat, NotBounties and AxGraves are also supported.
Questions about Duels Optimised.
3 questions
Does Duels Optimised work on Folia?
Yes. Folia support was added to the fork, and Folia is among the listed loaders alongside Bukkit, Spigot, Paper and Purpur. Folia and Purpur builds start at a slightly later Minecraft release than the Bukkit, Spigot and Paper builds, so check the version list on this page.
Do old Duels addons work with Duels Optimised?
No. The creator states that none of the old addons work with this fork. Use the official DuelsArenaRegen and leaderboard extensions instead. The party extension is unofficial and not maintained by the original author, so it may not keep pace with plugin updates.
Does Duels Optimised need other plugins?
The newest release requires no dependencies. WorldGuard is only needed if you enable DuelZones. Players do not install anything, since the plugin runs on the server alone.
