EssentialsC is an all-in-one essentials plugin for Minecraft servers running Bukkit, Paper, Folia, Purpur or Spigot. It covers homes, warps, kits, TPA requests, a shop, an auction house and 90+ commands, and almost every feature can be switched off. It runs on the server only. Players join as usual and install nothing.

Server software and versions

  • Bukkit, Paper, Purpur and Spigot: Minecraft 1.2.1 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • Folia: Minecraft 1.17 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.

How it differs from EssentialsX

EssentialsC began as an alternative to EssentialsX and is built around staying out of the way. Every command ships at normal priority, so vanilla /gamemode and /give keep working, and anything is still reachable through /essentialsc: . Commands can be disabled, reprioritized, aliased, given cooldowns or custom help text in commands.yml.

  • Disabled features are really gone: no background tasks, no listeners, no registered commands.
  • Storage is one SQLite database, or MySQL if you prefer, instead of a file per player.
  • 29 languages are built in, and each player picks theirs with /language.
  • Shop, auction house, kits and random teleport open as clickable menus, with no extra plugin for a shop or auction house.
  • Messages use MiniMessage, so gradients, hover text and RGB work everywhere.

Installation

  1. 1.Run Paper or a supported fork on Java 21 or newer. The creator targets Minecraft 1.20.6 and up.
  2. 2.Put the plugin file in the plugins folder. The plugin install guide covers the steps.
  3. 3.Start the server, then adjust the generated configs. The creator's wiki explains every option.
  4. 4.Coming from EssentialsX? Run /migration essentialsx to import users, homes, warps, bans, mutes and economy. Use dry-run mode first to preview the changes.

What it includes

Money tools are an economy stored in the same database as everything else, a shop menu and an auction house. Movement covers homes, warps, TPA and a wild teleport menu. Administration adds bans, mutes and other punishments, kits claimed from a menu, nicknames, a scoreboard and Discord notifications.

Questions about EssentialsC.

4 questions

How do I install EssentialsC?

Place the plugin file in the plugins folder of a Paper or compatible server, then restart it. Players do not install anything. After the first start, edit the generated config files, and use the creator's wiki for the full list of options. Java 21 or newer is expected.

Can I move from EssentialsX to EssentialsC?

Yes. The /migration essentialsx command imports users, homes, warps, bans, mutes and economy data. A dry-run mode shows what would change before anything is written, so you can preview the import. EssentialsX itself has no importer, which makes this a one-way convenience.

Does EssentialsC work on Folia?

Yes. Folia is listed among the supported server software alongside Bukkit, Paper, Purpur and Spigot, and the project advertises Folia support. The newest release needs no other plugins installed to run.

Does EssentialsC have a mail command?

No. EssentialsX offers /mail, but EssentialsC leaves it out. For messages to offline players you are limited to /msg history or an outside tool such as Discord, which the plugin can send notifications to.
