Multiverse-NetherPortals is an add-on for Multiverse-Core that makes nether and end portals behave like vanilla when your server runs several worlds. It targets Bukkit, Spigot, Paper and Purpur, and it is needed on the server only. The current build is 5.1.0.
What it does
- Links End, Nether and Overworld worlds managed by Multiverse.
- Links worlds automatically when they are named correctly, so setup stays minimal.
- Supports customised world scaling.
Installation
- 1.Install Multiverse-Core on the server. Every build of this plugin requires it.
- 2.Add Multiverse-NetherPortals to the same server. Players need nothing on the client.
- 3.Name your worlds the way the plugin expects so they link on their own, and use the Multiverse wiki and usage guide for setup beyond that.
Versions and loaders
- Bukkit, Spigot and Paper. Builds cover Minecraft 1.13 to 26.3.
- Purpur. Builds cover 1.18.2 to 26.3.
No loader has stopped receiving builds. All four have the same 5.1.0 release as their newest.

Questions about Multiverse-NetherPortals.
4 questions
Does Multiverse-NetherPortals need Multiverse-Core?
Yes. Every build for Bukkit, Spigot, Paper and Purpur lists Multiverse-Core as a required dependency, so install it first. Multiverse-Portals is optional and only matters if you want custom portals to other destinations. Without Core, the plugin has nothing to add portal behaviour to.
Which Minecraft versions does Multiverse-NetherPortals support?
Bukkit, Spigot and Paper builds cover Minecraft 1.13 to 26.3. Purpur builds start later, at 1.18.2, and also run to 26.3. The newest release on all four is 5.1.0, so there is no older loader left behind.
Do players need to install Multiverse-NetherPortals on their client?
No. It is a server-side plugin, and the client is listed as unsupported. Install it on the server next to Multiverse-Core, and players join with an unmodified game as they would on any other plugin server.
How do nether portals link worlds in Multiverse?
The plugin links Overworld, Nether and End worlds automatically when they are named correctly, so portals work like vanilla with minimal setup. It also supports customised world scaling. The Multiverse wiki and usage guide are the place to start for setup.
