SimpleHomes is a homes plugin for Paper and Spigot servers. Players save named homes with a command, then open a menu where every home appears as a bed and a click teleports them there. It runs on the server only, so players join with an ordinary client.

Server software and versions

  • Paper and Spigot: Minecraft 1.21 to 1.21.11. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What it does

The pitch is restraint. The plugin skips the long feature lists of larger homes plugins and covers three jobs: create, teleport, delete. Its own text and data folder use the name SiuuuHomes, so expect that spelling in the plugins directory.

  • /sethome <name> saves your current location under that name, with no stated limit on how many homes you can create.
  • /home opens the menu with all your homes as bed icons.
  • /delhome <name> removes a home permanently.
  • In the menu, left click teleports to the home and right click deletes it.

Installation

Put the plugin file in the plugins folder of your Paper or Spigot server and restart. Our guide to installing plugins on a server covers the steps. The plugin needs Java 21 and no other plugins.

Storage and limits

Homes are written to plugins/SiuuuHomes/homes.yml, grouped by player UUID, with the world name and x, y, z coordinates for each home. Plain YAML is easy to read and back up by hand.

Questions about SimpleHomes.

3 questions

How do I install SimpleHomes on a server?

Place the plugin file in the plugins folder of your Paper or Spigot server, then start or restart the server. The plugin needs Java 21 and has no required dependencies. The commands it adds are /sethome, /home and /delhome.

Do players need to install SimpleHomes?

No. It is a server plugin, so only the server owner installs it. Players join with a normal client and use the commands and the bed menu in the world. The plugin is not meant to be loaded on the client side.

Where does SimpleHomes store homes?

Homes are saved in a YAML file at plugins/SiuuuHomes/homes.yml. Each player's UUID holds their homes, and each home records a world name and x, y, z coordinates. There is no database option mentioned, so backing up that one file preserves everyone's homes.
