Bray's Llamas With Hats is a vanilla-like 16x resource pack for Java that restyles llamas wearing carpet. It takes its cue from the "Llamas with Hats" video series on YouTube and gives llamas new designs when carpet is on their backs. The pack only needs to be installed on the player's own machine.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.20 to 26.3. The newest build requires [[EMF] Entity Model Features](/mods/entity-model-features) and [ETF] Entity Texture Features.
What changes visually
Carpeted llamas get new designs. The light gray carpet is meant to read comfy and cozy, while the purple one is meant to look like an Enderman cosplay. Textures stay at 16x, so the llamas still sit comfortably next to vanilla mobs.
- Finished designs: white, brown, orange, lime, cyan, light blue, magenta, pink and the trader llama.
- Still crossed out on the project page: light gray, gray, black, red, yellow, green, blue and purple.
- A "secret designs" entry is teased but not described.
How to install Bray's Llamas With Hats
- 1.Install [EMF] Entity Model Features through its page, plus Entity Texture Features, which the pack also requires.
- 2.Place the pack's .zip in the resourcepacks folder (Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder).
- 3.Move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
- 4.Put carpet on a llama to see its design.
Known limitations
The pack changes llamas and nothing else. Two required mods are a real cost for a single-mob pack. Bedrock is not supported.

Are all carpet colours finished in Bray's Llamas With Hats?
No. White, brown, orange, lime, cyan, light blue, magenta, pink and the trader llama are finished. Light gray, gray, black, red, yellow, green, blue and purple are still crossed out on the project page, with the creator promising them in a coming update.
Does Bray's Llamas With Hats work with Fresh Animations?
Not yet. Fresh Animations support is planned for after every carpet design is finished. Until then, treat the pack as a standalone llama restyle.
How do I install Bray's Llamas With Hats?
Install the two required mods first, then drop the pack's .zip into the resourcepacks folder through Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder. Move it to the Selected side of the screen. Loading it for another release still works but shows an incompatibility warning.
