Bray's Better Bow and Arrows is a vanilla-like 16x resource pack for Java that swaps flat bow, crossbow and arrow sprites for 3D projectiles you see loaded and fired. It is a player-side pack only, so install it on your own machine. Real Arrow Tip support lets spectral and tipped arrows show their own look.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.19.3 to 26.3. The newest build requires Real Arrow Tip; some builds for 1.19.3 to 26.2 need no dependencies.
What changes visually
Bows and crossbows gain depth, and the projectiles are modelled rather than drawn flat. Separate left-hand and right-hand models keep the arrow near the body whichever hand holds the weapon.

Companion mods and settings
Respackopts is optional in some releases. With it installed, you can toggle between vanilla textures for the bow and arrows and the custom textures drawn for this pack. Real Arrow Tip is what makes tipped and spectral arrows appear as distinct projectiles.
How to install
- 1.Pick the file that matches your release on Modrinth and save the .zip.
- 2.In Options, open Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the .zip in.
- 3.Move the pack to the Selected side of the screen. A pack made for another release still loads but shows an incompatibility warning.
- 4.Add Real Arrow Tip if your chosen file requires it. The resource pack install guide covers the basics.
Known limitations
The pack is built around bows, crossbows and their projectiles. Java only, with no Bedrock port.

How do I install Bray's Better Bow and Arrows?

Does Bray's Better Bow and Arrows need Real Arrow Tip?
The newest release requires it. Several other releases need no dependencies, and some list it as optional. Real Arrow Tip is what lets spectral and tipped arrows show up as distinct projectiles, so install it if you want that.
Can I switch back to vanilla bow textures?
Yes, through Respackopts. With it installed you can toggle between vanilla textures for the bow and arrows and the custom textures drawn for this pack. Respackopts is optional in some releases.
Is Bray's Better Bow and Arrows available for Bedrock?
No. It is a Java pack hosted on Modrinth, and nothing links a Bedrock release. Bedrock uses a different pack format, so this file will not load there.
Why do the left-hand and right-hand bow models not appear?
That feature only works from 1.21.4 onward. Earlier releases may not behave as intended because of vanilla item model limits, so update if you want the hand-specific poses.
