The Cubic Leaves resource pack is a 16x pack for Minecraft Java that gives leaves a bushy look while keeping the blocky shape. It is built to be fast, so the frame-rate cost stays lower than other bushy leaves packs. It is a Java pack only, and Bedrock uses a different format.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.13 to 26.3.
What changes visually
Leaves gain a simple bushy look without drifting from vanilla aesthetics. Some leaf types get their own designs, and the pack supports a ton of different mods, with the full mod list on its Modrinth listing.
The aim is to avoid a heavy visual change. The bushy part is kept as light as it can be without hurting the look, which is why the performance hit should be much smaller than with other bushy leaves packs.
Choose a variant
- Cubic Leaves (performance) is the faster one. It does not work with other resource packs, and the bushy part will not match the block if another pack changes its texture.
- Cubic Leaves (resource pack compatible) is slower but works with any resource pack. The bushy part follows the block texture when another pack changes it. CurseForge labels it a release only because it hides betas.
How to install Cubic Leaves
- 1.Get the variant you want from the CurseForge page.
- 2.Put the .zip in your resourcepacks folder (Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder).
- 3.Move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
A pack made for another release can still load but shows an incompatibility warning. The resource pack install guide covers the folder steps in more detail.
Questions about Cubic Leaves.
4 questions
Is Cubic Leaves available for Bedrock?
No. Cubic Leaves is a Java Edition resource pack, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. The CurseForge listing is for Minecraft Java only, so Bedrock players need a separate leaves pack made for that edition.
Which Cubic Leaves variant should I choose?
Choose the performance variant if you use no other resource packs and want the highest frame rate. Choose the resource pack compatible variant if you stack packs, because its bushy part matches the block texture, though it runs slower.
Does Cubic Leaves work with other resource packs?
Only the compatible variant is made for that. The performance variant does not work with other resource packs, and its bushy part will not match the block if another pack changes the texture. The compatible variant follows the block texture.
How do I install Cubic Leaves?
Save the .zip into your resourcepacks folder, which you can reach through Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder. Then move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen. An incompatibility warning may appear on a mismatched release.
