Faithful 32x is a vanilla-like resource pack for Minecraft Java Edition that replaces every default 16x texture with a hand-drawn 32x equivalent, doubling the pixel density on blocks, items, mobs, and GUI elements. The art style stays true to Mojang's original designs so the game looks sharper without looking different. No mod loader, no OptiFine, and no third-party software is required.

What Changes Visually

The upgrade doubles the resolution of all vanilla textures while preserving the original color palette and shading logic. The difference is most visible on large flat surfaces like stone walls, sand dunes, and wood planks, where the finer pixel grid reads clearly at normal play distance. Mobs, particles, GUI screens, and held items are redrawn at 32x as well.

How to Install Faithful 32x

  1. 1.Download the .zip file from the Modrinth page.
  2. 2.Open Minecraft Java Edition and go to Options > Resource Packs.
  3. 3.Click Open Pack Folder to open the resourcepacks directory.
  4. 4.Drag the downloaded .zip into that folder.
  5. 5.Return to Minecraft, find Faithful 32x in the left column, and click the arrow to move it to the right.
  6. 6.Click Done and let the textures load.

Compatibility with Shaders

Faithful 32x works alongside shader packs loaded through Iris or OptiFine without any extra configuration. The 32x textures are compatible with PBR pipelines used by most modern shader packs. If a shader ships its own texture override layer, it may replace some Faithful textures in those slots; check the shader's documentation if you notice visual inconsistencies.
