Actually 3D Stuff reworks a wide range of vanilla items, tools, food, and enchanted books into three-dimensional models that show up properly in first person. It's a 16x resource pack for Minecraft Java, built specifically to pair with the Hold My Items mod, the Fabric mod that actually renders held items in the player's hands. Without that mod running, the pack has little to show.

What changes in Minecraft

The pack swaps flat vanilla item textures for blocky 3D models rendered in first person, in a vanilla-friendly style rather than a hyper-detailed overhaul. Diamonds, torches, potions, and armor pieces on armor stands all pick up the same treatment. The creator credits Actions & Stuff by Overville studio as the inspiration for the concept.

Installing Actually 3D Stuff and Hold My Items

  1. 1.Install the Fabric loader for your target Minecraft Java version.
  2. 2.Install the Hold My Items mod, which is what actually renders held items as 3D models in first person.
  3. 3.Drop the Actually 3D Stuff resource pack into your resource packs folder and enable it above your other packs.
  4. 4.Optionally add ResPackOpts for extra in-game configuration of the pack's options.

Supported Minecraft versions

  • Version 1.4 (released 2026-07-05) targets Minecraft Java 1.21.11.
  • Version 1.3.6 (released 2026-03-16) covers 1.21.9 through 1.21.11.
  • The creator states versions below 1.21.9 will most likely no longer be supported.
  • No port to newer Minecraft versions is planned until Hold My Items itself updates past 1.21.11.

How it differs from other 3D item packs

Actually 3D Stuff, by arch1vways, is a separate project from Actually 3D Blocks & Items!, a similarly named resource pack from a different creator with its own listings on Modrinth and CurseForge. The two are not related, and neither is affiliated with the other. Confirm the creator name on the listing before downloading if you searched for one and landed on the other.

Questions about Actually 3D Stuff.

4 questions

Which Minecraft versions does Actually 3D Stuff support?

The current release, version 1.4, targets Minecraft Java 1.21.11. The prior release, 1.3.6, covers 1.21.9 through 1.21.11. The creator says versions below 1.21.9 will most likely not be supported, and there is no plan to port the pack to newer versions until Hold My Items updates past 1.21.11.

Why does Actually 3D Stuff need Hold My Items?

Actually 3D Stuff only supplies the 3D item models and textures. Hold My Items is the Fabric mod that actually changes how held items render in first person, so the resource pack has nothing to display without it running alongside. ResPackOpts is optional and only adds extra configuration.

How is Actually 3D Stuff different from Actually 3D Blocks & Items!?

They are unrelated projects with similar names. Actually 3D Stuff is made by arch1vways and requires Hold My Items. Actually 3D Blocks & Items! is a separate pack from a different creator, listed on both Modrinth and CurseForge. Check the creator name on the listing before downloading.

Where can I download Actually 3D Stuff?

The pack is distributed from arch1vways' own Modrinth project page. That is the only listing this page links to; third-party mirrors and rehosts are not verified and are not linked here.
