Fogulous is a vanilla-like resource pack for Java that adds biome-based ambient fog to your world. If you searched for the Fogulous resource pack, this is it. It runs on the player's side only and does nothing on a dedicated server.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.20 to 1.21.5. Some builds for 1.20 to 1.21.5 require Polytone.
What changes visually
Each biome gets its own fog effect, and that fog responds to weather and time of day. Most of the fog and sky colors are credited to Cliff under a Tree.
Companion pieces
Caves are where the pack leans on outside help. The Cliff under a Tree datapack gives caves their own biome types, which lets Fogulous apply specific fog there. Some releases also depend on Polytone, so check the supported list above before picking a file.
How to install Fogulous
- 1.Get the .zip from the Modrinth page and pick the file that matches your release.
- 2.Open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the .zip in.
- 3.Move Fogulous to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
- 4.Some files require Polytone, so check the requirements of the one you picked. Add the Cliff under a Tree datapack to your world if you want cave fog.
Questions about Fogulous.
4 questions
How do I install Fogulous?
Put the Fogulous .zip in the resourcepacks folder, which you can open from Options, Resource Packs, Open Pack Folder. Then move it to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen. Some files require Polytone, so check the requirements of the file you download.
Is Fogulous available for Bedrock?
No. Fogulous is a Java Edition pack hosted on Modrinth, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. The fog and sky color work is built for Java, so it will not load on Bedrock.
Does Fogulous work on servers?
Fogulous is a client-side pack and is marked unsupported for servers. You install it on your own machine, and it only changes what you see. A server does not need it and gains nothing from it.
Who made the fog colors in Fogulous?
FusionSwarly publishes the pack, and most of the fog and sky colors are credited to Cliff under a Tree. A Cliff under a Tree datapack is highly recommended alongside it because it gives caves unique biome types for specific fog effects.
