Fresh Animations Player Extension overhauls how the player model moves in Minecraft Java, replacing static running, swimming, climbing, and sneaking poses with the same fluid animation style as the mob-focused Fresh Animations pack. It covers Java 1.20 through 26.2 in a single universal build, and it only renders through Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features, not through OptiFine.

What changes on the player model

  • Idle, running, sprinting, sneaking, and crawling animations rebuilt with smoother transitions between states
  • New climbing, wading, and treading water animations for cave and ocean movement
  • Jumping, falling, and landing animations that react to height and speed
  • Sitting, riding, and elytra gliding animations, including cape movement synced to flight direction
  • First-person hand animations when items are equipped or used

Requirements and load order

Fresh Animations Player Extension edits only the player model, while the base Fresh Animations pack edits mobs. The two do not touch the same files, so their order in your resource pack list does not affect either one. Enable both if you want a matching animated style across players and mobs.

How to install Fresh Animations Player Extension

  1. 1.Install Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features for your Minecraft Java mod loader
  2. 2.Download the Fresh Animations Player Extension zip file from its Modrinth page
  3. 3.Drop the zip file into your Minecraft resourcepacks folder without unzipping it
  4. 4.Open Minecraft, go to Options, then Resource Packs, and move it into the active list
  5. 5.Rejoin or restart your world so the new player animations load

Fresh Animations Player Extension cannot be ported to Bedrock Edition or redistributed as-is. The creator's terms only allow personal edits, use in videos or streams, and remixed derivative packs with credit. It is also a purely visual, client-side pack, it does not add new items, blocks, or gameplay mechanics.

Questions about Fresh Animations Player Extension.

5 questions

Does Fresh Animations Player Extension work with OptiFine?

No. The project page lists only Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features as requirements. That is different from the base Fresh Animations pack, which supports OptiFine's custom entity models as an alternative to EMF and ETF. This player extension needs both EMF and ETF installed, OptiFine alone will not render its animations.

Does it animate other players in multiplayer?

Yes. A resource pack changes how your own client renders entities, so every player model your game displays gets the new animations, including other people on the server, not just your own character. Those other players do not need the pack installed for you to see it; only your client needs it.

How do I install Fresh Animations Player Extension?

Install Entity Model Features and Entity Texture Features first, since the pack needs both to render. Download the zip from Modrinth, drop it into your resourcepacks folder without unzipping it, then enable it in Options, Resource Packs. Rejoin your world afterward so the new player animations load correctly.

Do I need the base Fresh Animations pack too?

No. This extension only replaces the player model, so it works on its own. Pairing it with the mob-focused Fresh Animations pack gives mobs and players a matching animated look, but nothing in the file itself requires the base pack to be installed.

Which Minecraft version does Fresh Animations Player Extension support?

Version 1.1.0, published in June 2026, covers Java 1.20 through 26.2 in one universal build, so there is no separate download per version. There is no Bedrock release, and the creator's terms explicitly forbid porting the pack to Bedrock Edition.
