| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|

Full Light is a fullbright resource pack for Minecraft Java that removes darkness for good. It behaves like the night vision effect without the potions, and it holds up in every dimension, in rain and in thunder. The pack is required on the client and is unsupported on the server.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.18 to 26.3. Some builds for 1.18 to 1.21.10 require Polytone.
What changes visually
The brightness is permanent, so there is no potion to drink and no effect timer to watch.
Companion mods and settings
The creator's page says the pack needs OptiFine or Polytone to work. Polytone also lets the pack work with Sodium. The list above shows which builds ask for Polytone and which need nothing extra, so check it against your game before downloading.
How to install Full Light
- 1.Download the .zip from Modrinth and leave it zipped.
- 2.Open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the file in.
- 3.Move Full Light to the Selected side of the screen.
- 4.Some builds also require Polytone, so check the build you picked. The general steps are in the resource pack install guide.
The trade-off is plain. Darkness is part of cave tension, and this pack removes it permanently. It also depends on OptiFine or Polytone to work at all.
Questions about Full Light.
3 questions
Does Full Light need OptiFine?
The creator's page says it needs OptiFine or Polytone. Polytone is the option for players using Sodium. The newest builds list no required dependency, while older ones ask for Polytone, so match the build to your game before installing.
Is Full Light allowed on servers?
The creator states that most servers, including Hypixel, allow fullbright. Rules vary between servers, so read the allowed modifications list before joining. The pack runs on the client only, and nothing is installed on the server.
Is Full Light available for Bedrock?
No. Full Light is a Java Edition pack hosted on Modrinth, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. Bedrock players need a separate pack made for that edition.
