MacePvP Essentials

A 16x combat pack for mace fights on Java. It lowers the shield, makes items such as food and XP bottles smaller, and thins out particles, with an optional variant that recolours Breach and Density maces.

MacePvP Essentials is a simplistic 16x resource pack for Java, made by MrOrdenador for players who fight with the mace. It clears visual clutter so you can read a fight faster.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.21 to 1.21.11. The newest build optionally uses CIT Resewn; some builds for 1.21 to 1.21.4 require CIT Resewn.

What changes visually

  • Smaller models for food, XP bottles and other everyday items, keeping the HUD clean.
  • Non-obstructive particles, and no particles in blocks.

The smaller item models are not original work. They come from Vanilla Tweaks, and the creator credits them.

Two variants

The pack ships in two forms. MacePvP Essentials is the plain tweak set. MacePvP Essentials [CM] makes the same changes and adds Custom Maces, where a Breach IV mace shows in blue and a Density V mace in red. The colour coding lets you spot the enchantment in someone's hand at a glance.

How to install MacePvP Essentials

  1. 1.Put the .zip in the resourcepacks folder, reachable through Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder.
  2. 2.Move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.

The general steps are in our guide to installing resource packs. A pack built for another release can still load, but it shows an incompatibility warning.

Trade-offs

The scope is narrow by design. This is a combat tweak set, not a full retexture, so it suits a vanilla look with fewer distractions. Smaller particles also mean less feedback on hits, which some players will miss.

Questions about MacePvP Essentials.

3 questions

Does MacePvP Essentials need OptiFine?

CIT Resewn or OptiFine is needed to make MacePvP Essentials work, and the coloured Custom Maces in the [CM] variant rely on that support. The newest file lists CIT Resewn as optional, so check the requirements of the file you choose before you install it.

Is MacePvP Essentials available for Bedrock?

No. It is a Java pack hosted on Modrinth, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. Bedrock players need a separate mace pack made for that format, since this one will not load there.

What does MacePvP Essentials change?

It lowers the shield, shrinks items such as food and XP bottles, and makes particles smaller or removes them, including block particles. The optional [CM] variant also recolours Breach IV maces blue and Density V maces red. The small item models come from Vanilla Tweaks, credited by the creator.
