SMP PvP Essentials

A small combat pack for Java that trims visual clutter in SMP fights. Fire and shield sit lower, items shrink and particles stay out of your way.

SMP PvP Essentials is a simplistic Java resource pack by MrOrdenador, built to give you a cleaner view during SMP fights. It is a pure resource pack with no mod loader, and it only affects your own screen. One feature, the red Knockback 1 sword, needs an optional mod.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.19.4 to 1.21.11. The newest build optionally uses CIT Resewn.

What changes visually

  • Low fire, so flames no longer fill the lower view. The same idea exists as a standalone pack in Low Fire.
  • Low shield, which keeps the raised shield from blocking your sight. A standalone take is Low Shield.
  • Small items, covering food, XP bottles and similar objects.
  • Non-obstructive particles, with no particles shown inside blocks.
  • A red Knockback 1 sword, so it reads differently from a regular sword.

The aim is clearer visuals and better timing cues. Nothing else is advertised, so expect everything outside this list to stay vanilla.

How to install SMP PvP Essentials

  1. 1.Get the .zip from the Modrinth page and leave it zipped.
  2. 2.In Options, open Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the file in.
  3. 3.Move the pack to the Selected side of the screen.
  4. 4.Optional, install CIT Resewn to see the red Knockback 1 sword.

A pack built for another release can still load, but you will see an incompatibility warning. For a refresher on the folder steps, see the guide to installing resource packs.

Known limitations

This is a narrow pack. It tunes five things for combat and does not retexture blocks, mobs or the interface. It is Java only, so Bedrock players need a different pack. The pack links no public source code, so there is no issue tracker to follow, only the creator's contact on Discord.

Questions about SMP PvP Essentials.

3 questions

Does SMP PvP Essentials need CIT Resewn?

No. The pack works without any mod. CIT Resewn is optional and only adds the red Knockback 1 sword. If you skip it, every other change still applies, and the sword looks like a regular one.

Is SMP PvP Essentials available for Bedrock?

No. It is a Java resource pack hosted on Modrinth, which serves Java content. Bedrock uses a different pack format, so this file will not load there. Bedrock players need a pack made for that format.

What does SMP PvP Essentials change?

It lowers fire and the shield, makes small items such as food and XP bottles smaller, and hides particles that block your view, including particles inside blocks. With CIT Resewn, it also turns the Knockback 1 sword red.
