No Fog – Clear View is a no fog resource pack for Minecraft Java that strips the haze from distant terrain. It is simplistic and vanilla-like, so textures stay as they are and only the fog goes. It runs on the player's own machine, needs no mods, and uses a 16x resolution.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.6 to 26.3.

What changes visually

Vast landscapes, distant builds and hidden structures are no longer blocked by the haze that normally hangs over them.

  • Fog removed in every biome and in the Overworld, Nether and End.
  • Clearer sightlines during rain, snow and storms.
  • Original style kept, with clearer sightlines.
  • Described by its creator as lightweight with no performance loss.

How to install No Fog

  1. 1.Grab the .zip from Modrinth and leave it zipped.
  2. 2.Open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the file in.
  3. 3.Move No Fog – Clear View to the Selected side of the list.
  4. 4.If a pack-format warning appears, the pack can still load. The install guide covers the screen in detail.

The README lists compatibility with shaders, OptiFine and Iris, and marks Fabric and Forge as working too. It suggests a render distance of 16 chunks or more, Fancy or Fabulous graphics, and brightness at 100%. A longer render distance is what lets the missing fog show off distant land.

Questions about No Fog – Clear View Resource Pack.

4 questions

How do I install the No Fog resource pack?

Download the .zip from Modrinth, open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and move the file in without unzipping it. Back on the Resource Packs screen, move No Fog – Clear View to the Selected side of the list.

Does No Fog work with shaders?

The README says it is compatible with shaders, OptiFine and Iris, and it also lists Fabric and Forge as working. The pack itself needs no mods or extra configuration, so a shader setup is optional rather than required. Shaders are an extra, not a requirement.

Is No Fog available for Bedrock?

No. This pack is for Java Edition only, as it is hosted on Modrinth as Java content. Bedrock uses a different pack format, so a Java pack cannot be used there as it stands. Anyone on Bedrock needs a pack built for that edition, not this one by Novaxi.

Does a no fog resource pack hurt performance?

The creator describes No Fog as lightweight with no performance loss. The pack keeps the original style and needs no mods or extra configuration. How far you see is still limited by the render distance you choose, and the README suggests 16 chunks or more.
