Realistic Woods is a photo-realistic 16x resource pack for Minecraft Java that swaps the flat, repetitive default wood for more detailed and varied textures. Lupin publishes it on CurseForge, and AviArt designed the textures and models. It suits builders who are tired of vanilla logs and planks, and it is the realistic woods resource pack to reach for when wood is the main material in a build.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.16 to 26.3.
What changes visually
The pack does not stop at logs. Everything crafted from those trunks takes on the same look, including planks, stairs, fences and more.
How to install Realistic Woods
The steps are the standard ones for any Java pack. The resource pack install guide covers them in more detail.
- 1.Take the .zip from the CurseForge page.
- 2.In Options > Resource Packs, choose Open Pack Folder and drop the .zip into it.
- 3.Move Realistic Woods to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
Trade-offs
The scope is narrow by design. The pack is about wood and the items made from it, so pair it with another pack if you want the rest of the world to match its detail. It is Java only, and a pack made for a different release can still load but shows an incompatibility warning.
Questions about Realistic Woods.
3 questions
How do I install Realistic Woods?
Take the .zip from the CurseForge page and place it in the resourcepacks folder, which you can open from Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder. Then move Realistic Woods to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen. If the pack was made for a different release, it can still load, but a warning appears.
Is Realistic Woods available for Bedrock?
No. Realistic Woods is published for Java only, and Bedrock uses a different pack format, so the .zip will not work there. Bedrock players should look for a pack made specifically for Bedrock instead of forcing the Java file in.
Can I add Realistic Woods to a modpack?
Yes, as long as the pack stays published only on Modrinth or CurseForge. Adding it to a modpack on either platform is welcome, and Lupin invites questions or requests for small changes. Uploading it to any other platform violates the rights of its makers and is not allowed.
