Shadify is a vanilla-like Java resource pack that removes the dull shading from blocks, so the world reads brighter and more alive. It needs no mods and runs on the player's side only. Anyone searching for the Shadify resource pack is after one thing, and it does that one thing.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.16 to 26.3.
What changes visually
Players who know the Simply No Shading mod will recognise the effect. Shadify gets there with a resource pack alone, so there is no mod loader to set up. Modrinth files it under core shaders, simplistic and vanilla-like.
- Block shading is removed, which clears out dark corners and flat shadows.
- Lighting feels brighter across the whole world.
- The pack is lightweight, and its description promises no performance hit.
- Its description says it can be layered with visual shaders for combined effects.
How to install Shadify
- 1.Grab the .zip from the Modrinth page linked on this listing.
- 2.Open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the .zip in.
- 3.Move Shadify to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
- 4.If a pack built for another release shows an incompatibility warning, it can still load.
More on the process is in the resource pack install guide.
Questions about Shadify.
4 questions
Does Shadify need any mods?
No. Shadify produces the no-shading effect purely through a resource pack, so it needs neither a mod loader nor a library. It is comparable to the Simply No Shading mod in result, but you install it like any other pack from the Resource Packs screen.
Does Shadify work with shaders?
The pack's description says it is compatible with all shaders and can be used alongside them for unique effects. Treat that as the creator's claim rather than a tested result. If a shader looks wrong, disable Shadify and compare.
Is Shadify available for Bedrock?
No. Shadify is published on Modrinth, which hosts Java content, and the pack is Java only. Bedrock uses a different pack format, so this file will not load there.
Does Shadify hurt performance?
The creator describes Shadify as lightweight and says it works smoothly without affecting performance. It only removes shading, with no stated texture or model changes, so it should not behave like a heavy high-resolution pack.
