ZickZack V5 is a Java resource pack by Competencia, styled after the look of BastiGHG and the original ZickZack V5 pack. It reworks the sky, hotbar, overlay, totem of undying and paintings. The pack loads on the player's side only, so nothing is installed on a multiplayer host.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.20.3 to 26.3. The newest build optionally uses Skyboxify.
What changes visually
- A redesigned hotbar and screen overlay.
- Adjusted models, plus smaller touches across items, equipment and the GUI.
The hotbar and sky are darker than in the original pack. OptiFine also tints the XP number in the hotbar a matching green. The pack is still being adjusted, and bug reports go through the Discord linked on the Modrinth page.
Sodium and custom skies
The custom sky works with OptiFine and Badlion without extra steps. Sodium does not support custom skies, so players using it need Optiboxes installed to see the sky.
How to install ZickZack V5
- 1.Get the .zip from the Modrinth page and leave it zipped.
- 2.Open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the file in.
- 3.Move ZickZack V5 to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.

Trade-offs
This is a parody pack, and Competencia's own page now points to ZickZack V6 as the newest pack. V5 suits players who want this particular look. The pack is Java only and has no Bedrock port.

Does ZickZack V5 work with Sodium?
Sodium does not support custom skies, so seeing the pack's custom sky alongside it requires installing Optiboxes as well. The sky is compatible with OptiFine and Badlion without any problems. OptiFine also changes the colour of the XP number in the hotbar to a matching green.
