Amethyst Shaders is a semi-realistic shader pack for Java that gives Complementary Reimagined a more vibrant look. gamerbenyt made it as a modified take on that pack, and it loads through Iris or OptiFine. Expect richer colour, a bluer sky and a stronger mood in the Nether and the End.
Shader loaders and versions

What it changes
- A bluer daytime sky and more vibrant blocks.
- Clouds with a thick, shiny outline that ignores the world outline preferences.
- A more contrasty Nether, with brighter blue in soul sand valleys.
- An End with brighter beams, more stars and a blue-purple sky.
- Visible light rays on light-emitting blocks, such as a nether portal, while it rains.
- Modified pixelated shadows, included in the default profile.
An option switches to the Unbound visual style, as in standard Complementary.
Installation
Install Iris or OptiFine first, then place the pack's .zip in the shaderpacks folder. The shader install guide covers each step, and fixing shaders that will not load helps if the pack does not show up. Bedrock cannot run Iris or OptiFine, so this pack is Java only.
Updates and credit
The pack will not follow Complementary Reimagined updates. Only that project's licence changes are carried over. The credit for the base work belongs to the Complementary team.

Does Amethyst Shaders work with OptiFine?
It lists OptiFine builds from 1.8.9 to 1.21.11, but it was built and playtested on Iris. Some compatibility is expected on OptiFine, but not every feature is promised to work correctly. Iris is the safer choice. Bugs can be reported as a ticket on the Amethyst Shaders Support Github.
What is Amethyst Shaders based on?
It is a modified version of Complementary Reimagined, tweaked by gamerbenyt to suit a more vibrant visual style. It does not receive Reimagined updates. Only the base pack's licence changes are brought over.
Can I use Amethyst Shaders on Bedrock?
No. It is a Java pack that needs Iris or OptiFine, and neither runs on Bedrock. Bedrock uses a different shader format, so this pack cannot be loaded there.
