Feather FPS Boost Mod is a lightweight Minecraft Bedrock addon built to raise frame rates and smooth out stutter while keeping the vanilla look. It targets low-end and mid-range phones, tablets and older PCs. It works on existing worlds with no experimental toggles, and achievements stay enabled. Java Edition cannot load it.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.21 to 26.50.
What it changes
Feather attacks rendering overhead and spawn density, the two biggest sources of lag on Bedrock devices. Crafting, physics, progression, world generation, loot and mob AI are not touched.
- 186 particle types handled: 177 removed outright, 9 potion, spell and gas effects kept but trimmed.
- 42 of 80 block animations frozen, including water, lava, magma, bubble columns, kelp, campfires and portals.
- Fire and soul fire animation halved, from 32 to 16 frames.
- Blocky shadows under Vibrant Visuals, without per-edge filtering, and no volumetric fog cost.
- Colormaps desaturated at 64×64, with End sky, End flash and rain splash textures reduced to 1×1.
- Spawn density reduced across 35 mobs, and sound volumes trimmed for 85 mobs.
Fog modes
Pick one from the subpack list when you activate the add-on, and switch whenever you like.
- Optimized: short-range fog and the highest FPS. This is the original Feather look.
- Balanced: mid-range fog with a softer horizon and more visibility.
- Clean: no fog at all and clear water in every biome, for strong devices.
Installation
The file comes as one .mcaddon with both packs, or as separate behavior and resource .mcpack files. If importing goes wrong, the guide on fixing add-ons that do not work covers the usual causes, and the general steps are in how to install add-ons on Bedrock.
- 1.Open the file. Minecraft imports it automatically.
- 2.Go to Settings, then Global Resources, or open a world and choose Behavior and Resource Packs.
- 3.Activate Feather FPS Boost v11 [BP] and [RP].
- 4.Pick a fog mode from the subpack list and launch the world.
It runs on Android, iOS and iPadOS, Windows 10 and 11, Xbox and PlayStation. It is compatible with Survival, Creative, multiplayer servers, Realms, Vibrant Visuals and most resource packs and shaders.
Questions about Feather FPS Boost Mod.
4 questions
Does Feather FPS Boost need experimental toggles?
No. The add-on needs no experimental features, and it works on existing worlds without a reset. Import the file, activate the behavior and resource packs in the world settings, choose a fog mode, and play. Achievements stay enabled while it is active.
Does Feather FPS Boost work on Realms and servers?
Yes. It is listed as compatible with multiplayer servers and Realms, as well as Survival and Creative worlds. Its behavior pack changes spawn settings, so mob numbers will differ from vanilla wherever the pack is active.
How do I install Feather FPS Boost on Bedrock?
Open the .mcaddon file and Minecraft imports both packs. Then activate Feather FPS Boost v11 [BP] and [RP] in your world's pack settings, or in Global Resources, and choose a fog mode. Separate .mcpack files are also offered if you want only one pack.
Why are there fewer animals with Feather FPS Boost?
The behavior pack trims herd sizes, spawn weights and density limits on 35 mobs. A cow herd becomes 2 instead of 4. If you want vanilla spawning, activate only the resource pack, which works on its own.
