Steam & Gears is a Bedrock addon that brings the kinetic automation of the Create mod to Bedrock worlds. You build rotation networks, generate steam, move fluids and process items with airflow. It is written with the Script API, so no experimental toggles are needed, and it ships as one .mcaddon file.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 26.0 to 26.3.

What it adds

  • Kinetic parts: shafts, cogwheels, large cogwheels (a 2:1 ratio to small ones), gearboxes and a redstone clutch. Every part has RPM and Stress Unit values, and an overloaded network stops.
  • Power: a hand crank at 32 RPM, a water wheel up to 16 RPM, and a three-block steam engine up to 96 RPM when superheated.
  • Fluids: multiblock tanks for water, lava, milk and steam, plus pipes and an RPM-driven pump. A blaze burner heats a tank to make steam.
  • Encased fan: washing, smoking, blasting and haunting, with over 100 processing recipes. Airflow reaches 4 to 20 blocks depending on RPM.
  • Logistics: a mechanical arm that moves items between containers within 10 blocks, vaults up to 3x3x9, and a wrench to configure it all.

How to install Steam & Gears

  1. 1.Open the .mcaddon file with Minecraft. Both the behavior pack and the resource pack import automatically.
  2. 2.Apply both packs to your world in its settings.
  3. 3.Enable the Script Eval capability if Minecraft prompts for it.

If the packs do not appear, the add-on installation guide covers the manual folder route.

Who it suits

It fits players who want Create-style engineering without leaving Bedrock. Persistent data keeps networks, tanks and machines intact across world reloads, and PBR textures are supported on RTX-enabled devices. The trade-off is scope. It reproduces a slice of Create, not the whole mod, and the addon alone is the only content it adds.

Questions about Steam & Gears.

3 questions

How do I install Steam & Gears on Bedrock?

Open the .mcaddon file with Minecraft and both packs import on their own. Then switch on the behavior pack and the resource pack in your world's settings. If Minecraft asks for the Script Eval capability, enable it. Manual installs use the behavior_packs and resource_packs folders.

Does Steam & Gears need experimental toggles?

No. The addon runs on the Script API and its creator states that no experimental toggles are required. The only extra step is enabling the Script Eval capability when Minecraft prompts for it while you apply the packs.

Is Steam & Gears the same as the Create mod?

No. Steam & Gears is a separate Bedrock addon by Lord_BIG_brain_2077 that brings the Create mod experience to Bedrock Edition, with kinetic networks, steam engines and encased fans. It recreates part of those ideas rather than the whole mod. Add-ons are Bedrock Edition only, so Java Edition cannot load it.
