How much Minecraft costs on PC and what the price covers

The PC price shown by the US Xbox store, what one purchase gives you, what the Deluxe Collection adds, and which extras are billed separately.

Published Checked

Minecraft: Java & Bedrock Edition for PC is listed at $29.99+ on the US Xbox store, read on 18 October 2026. That one purchase covers Java Edition and Bedrock Edition on PC. The Deluxe Collection is listed at $39.99+ and adds extras. Realms Plus, Marketplace Pass and Marketplace content are not in the base price.

What Minecraft costs on PC

Every price below comes from the en-US Xbox store pages for Minecraft, read on 18 October 2026, in US dollars. The plus sign is the store's own. The minecraft.net store pages we read show a Buy Now button and no price figure, so we have no Mojang-side number to set against these.

Java & Bedrock Edition Ultimate Collection$49.99+The same games plus a longer add-on list and 1000 Minecoins

What the Java and Bedrock purchase includes

Since 7 June 2022, Mojang sells the two editions together as the standard and only vanilla offering on Windows PC (Mojang announcement, 4 June 2022). They stay separate games with their own features, opened from the same launcher, and you cannot run both at once. The store page also says a purchase is tied to the Microsoft account used to buy it, so a new PC needs no second purchase. For the full contents, see what the Java and Bedrock bundle includes. For a free trial, see Is Minecraft free.

What the Deluxe Collection adds

The Xbox store lists these add-ons with the Deluxe Collection: Celebration Food, Plenty of Blocks 2.0, Rescue Dogs Mutts, Nether Portal Wings, Pig Pal Hat, Three Villagers Coat and 700 Minecoins. The Ultimate Collection lists Decocraft, a Weapons + Tools Add-On, an Exploding Creeper Coat and a Jockey Fan Hat as well, with 1000 Minecoins. The games are the same in all three, so the extra money buys cosmetics, add-ons and Minecoins, not a different game.

What is not in the price

  • Minecoins and Marketplace content. The Xbox store lists add-ons from $1.99 (a skin pack) to $8.99 (several licensed add-ons), and some are free, such as Camp Enderwood. These apply to Bedrock; the store page lists the Marketplace as not included for Java.
  • Marketplace Pass. The store describes it as a monthly subscription, and what Marketplace Pass is covers how it differs from Minecoins.
  • Realms Plus and official featured servers. The store notes that online multiplayer on those servers needs a subscription sold separately. It offers a free 30-day Realms Plus trial in the app, and we found no Realms price in the pages we read.
  • Game Pass. The Xbox listing shows Minecraft in the Premium, PC only and Ultimate tiers. See Is Minecraft in Game Pass.

What existing Java or Bedrock owners got free

Mojang's June 2022 announcement says every player who owned either edition would receive the other for free in the Minecraft Launcher from 7 June, with nothing to claim. It warned the game could take 2 to 3 days to appear as the rollout reached eligible players. Owners of only one edition on PC therefore had no reason to buy the bundle. How the purchase ties to your login is covered in what a Microsoft account links.

Why the price differs by region and store

We read only the US pages, so every figure here is a US dollar price on one store on one day. Other regions and currencies show their own figures, and key resellers in search results are third parties we did not read. The price you see at checkout is the one that counts.

What it means for mod, add-on and server players

The store page lists mods as included for Java Edition and add-ons, skin packs and the Marketplace as Bedrock features, so the single purchase covers both routes. Which one suits you is in Java vs Bedrock, and what Bedrock add-ons are explains the Marketplace side. For Java mods, installing mods on Java Edition is the next step.

Consoles and mobile

On the Nintendo Switch store page we read, the price field had not loaded, so we state no Switch price. The page says online play needs a Nintendo Switch Online membership sold separately, the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack is included, and Minecoins can be bought in the Nintendo eShop. It also says owners of the 2017 Switch Edition could upgrade to the 2018 release for free. We read no first-hand price page for PlayStation, Xbox consoles, Android or iOS, so we give none. See Minecraft Switch 2 Edition for that device.
