Nullscape

Nullscape replaces the vanilla End with an alien landscape of shattered islands, floating valleys, and crystallized peaks across multiple new biomes. Works as a standalone datapack or as a Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt mod from 1.18.2 to 1.21.5.

Nullscape replaces the sparse vanilla End with an alien landscape built around distinct new biomes. Shattered islands, floating valleys, crystallized spires, and porous wastelands fill the outer End, making each trip through the portal feel like entering a different dimension. The central island where the Ender Dragon fight takes place is left intact, so progression is unaffected.

What Nullscape Changes in the End

The outer End islands receive the most dramatic transformation. New terrain shapes replace the flat vanilla end stone platforms, and biome variety means the environment changes noticeably as you explore further from the portal. Key terrain types include:

  • Shattered End: jagged void-scarred islands with vertical drop formations.
  • Floating valleys: low-hanging landmasses with pale surface cover.
  • Crystallized peaks: spire formations rising from the outer island ring.
  • Porous wastes: open sponge-like terrain with scattered End stone clusters.
  • Alien growths: stretched and warped formations that mirror the surreal End atmosphere.

Nullscape focuses entirely on the End dimension. Overworld and Nether terrain are unchanged; pair it with Terralith (overworld) or Incendium (Nether) from the same Stardust Labs team for a full three-dimension overhaul.

How to Install Nullscape

Nullscape is available as a standard datapack zip or as a mod jar for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt. Choose whichever matches your setup.

  1. 1.Download the Nullscape zip or jar from Modrinth for your Minecraft version.
  2. 2.Datapack: open your world save folder, go into `datapacks/`, and drop the `.zip` inside. Run `/reload` in-game, or restart the world.
  3. 3.Mod: place the `.jar` in your `mods/` folder alongside Fabric Loader, Forge, NeoForge, or Quilt, then launch the game normally.
  4. 4.Travel to new End chunks to see the new biomes. Already-generated chunks are not retroactively changed.

Multiplayer and Server Use

Nullscape must be installed on the server, not the client. Add the datapack to the server world's `datapacks/` folder, or place the mod jar in the server's `mods/` folder and restart. Players connecting to the server do not need Nullscape installed on their own game client. Single-player installs work exactly the same way: datapack in the world folder or mod jar in the mods folder.

Questions about this entry.

  • How do I install Nullscape?

Download the zip from Modrinth and drop it into your world's `datapacks/` folder, then run `/reload` in-game or restart the world. Nullscape also ships as a jar for Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, and Quilt; place it in your `mods/` folder like any other mod. New biomes only appear in chunks you have not yet visited.

  • Does Nullscape work with Terralith?

Yes. Nullscape and Terralith are both made by Stardust Labs and are designed to run together. Terralith overhauls the Overworld while Nullscape reworks the End, so the two packs cover separate dimensions and do not conflict. Many players add Incendium for the Nether as well, completing the full set.

  • Which Minecraft versions does Nullscape support?

Nullscape supports Java Edition 1.18.2 through 1.21.5, with updates released as new versions of Minecraft launch. Check the Modrinth page to find the specific download file for your game version.

  • Can I use Nullscape on a multiplayer server?

Yes. Nullscape requires a server-side install only; the datapack or mod goes on the server, not on each player's client. Clients connecting to the server will see the new End terrain without any additional setup on their end.

  • Does Nullscape change the Ender Dragon fight or the central island?

No. Nullscape modifies only the outer End islands and the biomes between them. The central End island where the Ender Dragon spawns is left unchanged, so the fight, progression, and loot work exactly as in vanilla Minecraft.
