Better Than Mending is a Java mod for Fabric, NeoForge and Forge that changes how Mending works. It adds exactly one feature: sneak-right-click a Mending item and it repairs using experience you already have. It must be installed on the server, and it is optional on the client.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.14.4 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What it changes
Hold the damaged item, sneak, right-click, and the repair drains your experience. The README describes it as shift-right clicking and draining experience to repair.

Installation

What does Better Than Mending do?
It adds one feature to Mending. When you sneak and right-click while holding a Mending item, the item repairs using experience you already have. You no longer need to wait for experience orbs to touch the gear. Nothing else in the mod changes.
Do I need Better Than Mending on the server?
Yes. The mod is required on the server, so a server without it will not offer the repair action. Installing it on the client is optional. Put the file for your loader and release in the mods folder on the server.
