The Camouf 2 plugin is an open-source recreation of the disguise system from Sohran's KamoofSMP seasons, written from scratch by Ghosty920. It ships as a Fabric mod and as plugin releases for Bukkit, Spigot, Paper and Purpur. The idea is simple: kill someone, they drop their head, and using it steals their identity.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.21.9 to 1.21.11. The newest build requires Fabric API.
What it changes
- Head drops. A dead player drops a head named after them. Right-click it to take their skin and name.
- Disguise handling. Heads can be placed, returned on undisguise if you enable it, and your skin is restored when you reconnect.
- The ritual. Gathering heads (nine, per the README) starts a staged ritual with lightning, a sphere of particles and a fast-forwarding clock, ending in a pact book.
- Two pacts. The Bloody Pact adds 5 hearts, but your next death drops 3 heads. The Forgotten Pact drops no head at all, but leaves you with Weakness for that life.
- Mace limit. The README adds a cap on craftable maces and blocks storing them in an ender chest.
Nearly everything is configurable, from head names and lore to pact strength, the ritual time window, duplicate-head limits and animation timing. Commands are /kamoofsmp, /undisguise and /givehead. Admin commands need the kamoofsmp.admin permission.
Installation
For the Fabric release, install Fabric API alongside it. If you have not set up the loader yet, the Fabric install guide covers it.
For the plugin releases, the README gives these steps.
- 1.Use a Paper host, or a fork marked as compatible.
- 2.Take the plugin file from the newest release.
- 3.Drop it into the plugins folder.
- 4.Start or restart, then check the console and run /plugins for errors.
Trade-offs
This is built for SMP-style play, where the identity theft and the ritual only mean something with other people around. The README calls it unofficial and reconstructed from videos and streams, so details may differ from Sohran's original. Stackable Heads is an optional companion if you want heads to stack.
