Custom Splash Screen

Replaces the startup loading screen with one you configure yourself, using a long list of config options. It runs on the player's own machine only and needs no other mods.

Custom Splash Screen is a Java mod for Fabric and Quilt that replaces the startup loading screen with one you configure yourself. Anyone after a custom splash screen gets many config options and no other mods to install. It runs on the player's own machine only.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.16 to 1.21.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • Quilt: Minecraft 1.18 to 1.21.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What it changes

The mod lets you completely change the splash screen and exposes many config options so you can tune the loading screen to your liking. Examples of customised screens are shown on the listing.

Installation

Install your loader first, then add the mod file. The general mod guide covers the folder layout, and the Fabric guide covers the loader itself.

  1. 1.Install Fabric or Quilt for the Java release you play.
  2. 2.Pick the mod file that matches that release and loader on the Modrinth listing.
  3. 3.Put the file in the mods folder inside your .minecraft directory.
  4. 4.Start the launcher with the loader's profile.

Configuration and trade-offs

The mod is built around its options, so expect a few launches of tuning before the result looks right. A project wiki is hosted on GitHub for when an option is unclear.

Questions about Custom Splash Screen.

4 questions

How do I install Custom Splash Screen?

Install Fabric or Quilt for the Java release you play, then place the mod file in the mods folder inside the .minecraft directory. Start the launcher with the loader's profile. The newest releases list no dependencies, so nothing else is required. Settings are adjusted through the mod's config options, and a wiki is hosted on GitHub.

Does Custom Splash Screen work on Forge?

The listing shows files for Fabric and Quilt only. No Forge or NeoForge files are listed, and a mod runs only with the loader it was made for, so it will not load on those loaders. Pick Fabric or Quilt if you want this mod.

Does Custom Splash Screen need other mods?

No. The newest files for both Fabric and Quilt list no required dependencies, so the mod file alone is enough once your loader is installed. Earlier files for these loaders list no requirements either, across the whole range of supported releases.

Can I install Custom Splash Screen on a dedicated multiplayer host?

No. The listing marks the dedicated host side as unsupported and the player side as required. Install it only on the machine of the player who wants the custom loading screen, since the loading screen is something only that player sees. Installing it on a host is unsupported.
