FramedBlocks is a decoration mod for NeoForge and Forge that adds blocks in dozens of shapes, each able to take on the look of almost any other block. Slopes, prisms, stairs, doors, rails, chests and more all follow the same rule, so one shape set covers every material you build with. It is required on both sides, so a multiplayer host and every player who joins need it.
Loaders and versions
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1 to 26.1.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- Forge: Minecraft 1.16.5 to 1.20.1. The newest build needs no dependencies.
How camouflage works
- Right click a framed block with almost any solid block to make it look alike.
- Right click with a fluid container to copy the fluid's look (1.19 and later), and with an empty container to remove it.
- Right click with Glowstone Dust to make the block give off light.
- Right click with a Framed Hammer to remove the camouflage.
What you can build with it
The shape list goes well past cubes and slabs. You get slopes in several forms, prism and threeway corners, pillars, posts, half stairs, divided and stacked slope slabs, and slope panels. Functional blocks are covered too: doors, trapdoors, gates, pressure plates, buttons, levers, signs, torches, ladders, chests, flower pots, item frames and a set of fancy and sloped rails. Odd extras include a Bouncy Cube, a Secret Storage block, a One-Way Window and a Glowing Cube that glows without emitting light.
Prism corners apply a texture offset automatically when placed, so large surfaces line up. Left click the block to toggle that offset if you do not want it.
Installation
Install the loader that matches your target release, then put the mod file in the mods folder inside the .minecraft directory and start the loader's profile. If you have not set up a loader yet, the Forge and NeoForge install guide walks through it. Mods run on Java only, so Bedrock cannot load this one.

Questions about FramedBlocks.
4 questions
How do I install FramedBlocks?
Install NeoForge or Forge for the release you want to play, then place the FramedBlocks file in the mods folder inside the .minecraft directory. Start the loader's profile afterwards. The newest builds list no required dependencies, so no extra library mod is needed.
Does FramedBlocks work on Fabric?
No. The listed builds target NeoForge and Forge only. Fabric players will not be able to load this mod. A mod runs only with the loader its build was made for, so a Fabric or Quilt profile cannot load these files. NeoForge and Forge are the loaders with builds.
Does FramedBlocks work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, but it must be installed on both sides. The host needs it and every connecting player needs it too. The newest builds list no required dependencies, so there is no extra library to add on either side. Install it for the loader you play on.
How do I remove the camouflage from a framed block?
Right click the block with a Framed Hammer to strip the applied block look. If the camouflage is a fluid, which works on 1.19 and later, right click with an empty fluid container instead.
