Marlow's Crystal Optimizer is a Fabric mod for Java that removes an end crystal on your own screen the moment you hit it, instead of waiting for the host to remove it. That matters most at high ping, where the wait is longest. It runs on the player side only and covers a wide span of Java releases.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric: Minecraft 1.19 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies; some builds for 1.20.5 to 1.21.11 require Fabric API.
What it changes
Normally a broken crystal lingers until the host confirms its removal. This mod clears it locally, so the crystal disappears without that round trip. The job is narrow and single-purpose. Modrinth files it under magic and utility.
DevBram owns the project, with Pathdos as contributor and Legertje08 as tester. The code is public on GitHub, and issues are tracked there.
Installation
- 1.Install Fabric Loader for your release, following how to install Fabric on Java.
- 2.Check the loader minimum. Releases 1.19 to 1.21.4 need Fabric Loader 0.16.5 or newer, 1.21.5 to 1.21.10 need 0.16.10, 1.21.11 needs 0.17.3, 26.1 to 26.2 need 0.18.4, and 26.3 and above need 0.19.3.
- 3.Place the mod file in your mods folder, along with Fabric API if your chosen release asks for it. The mod install guide covers the folder layout.
- 4.Launch with the Fabric profile.
Questions about Marlow's Crystal Optimizer.
3 questions
What does Marlow's Crystal Optimizer actually do?
It removes an end crystal on your side as soon as you break it, instead of waiting for the host to remove it. Players on higher ping notice the difference most, because the wait for confirmation is longer. It works on the player side only.
Do I need to install it on the host as well?
No. The mod is required on the player side and the hosting side is unsupported. Install it in your own mods folder under Fabric, and it works when you join a multiplayer world without any change from the host.
Is Marlow's Crystal Optimizer free to modify?
The code is under the MIT License, with copyright held by Bram and Marlow. That licence allows use, modification, merging, publishing and redistribution of the software. The grant is free of charge and extends to selling the software, per the LICENSE file in the GitHub repository. Modrinth lists the same MIT label.
