Hbm's Nuclear Tech - Extended Edition is a Forge mod for 1.12.2 that must run on both the host and every player. It centres on atomic science: reactors, rockets, bombs, guns and bunkers. Alcatergit maintains it as a fork of a fork, with the stated aim of bringing the 1.12.2 port closer to the 1.7.10 feature set.

Loaders and versions

  • Forge: Minecraft 1.12.2. The newest build needs no dependencies, optionally Had Enough Items, GroovyScript, OpenComputers, Galacticraft-Legacy and Quark.

What it changes

Nukes are no longer green TNT. You build a tech tree of processing and utility machines, enrich uranium, synthesize new explosives, then assemble missiles and warheads. Abandoned structures give you something to explore, and radiation and other hazards punish careless handling.

  • Nuke, balefire and fallout chunkloading.
  • Nukes evaporate water in range, and a crater in a wet biome floods.
  • Big doors are radiation proof and open via redstone.
  • RTGs follow an actual half-life and power relation.
  • New machines such as the FEL, Fracking Tower, Catalytic Cracking Tower and RBMK Storage.
  • Fixes for the Chemplant and Assembler duping bug, missing recipes and reactor balance.

Installation

The mod needs no special dependencies. Set up Forge on a 1.12.2 profile (see how to install Forge), launch once so the mods folder exists, then drop the mod file into it. The recipes are numerous and complex, so JEI is strongly recommended.

Where it sits among 1.12.2 ports

There is no single official 1.12.2 NTM. Every maintainer releases their own edition. This one is forked from TheOriginalGolem's fork, which came from Drillgon200's port of HBMTheBobcat's original mod. It adds the 1.7.10 oil processing and many reworked textures, with emissive textures when OptiFine is present.

Questions about Hbm's Nuclear Tech - Extended Edition.

3 questions

Is this the official 1.12.2 HBM's Nuclear Tech?

No. The creator states there is no single official 1.12.2 release, because each person who publishes one makes their own edition. This one is a fork of TheOriginalGolem's fork, which came from Drillgon200's port of the original mod by HBMTheBobcat.

How does Extended differ from NTM Reloaded?

The creator calls them worlds apart. Extended has most bugs fixed and carries the 1.7.10 oil features. It also adds new textures, blocks such as Ducrete and RBMK decoration, new machines, and reworked mechanics like modular Tsar and N2 mine explosions.

Does it work on multiplayer servers?

Yes, but it is required on both sides. The host and every player must install the mod on Forge for 1.12.2.
