Quark is a Forge and NeoForge mod for Minecraft Java Edition that adds over 144 individually configurable features without changing the core feel of the game. Every single feature can be toggled on or off through an in-game config screen, so you only run what you want. It installs on both the client and server and covers versions from 1.12.2 through 1.21.1.

What Quark Adds

Quark organizes its features into eight categories. Building brings over 50 new block variants including new wood types, stone palettes, and decorative slabs. Tweaks covers small mechanic adjustments like glass shard drops and improved snow layers. World adds spiral spires, crystal caves, and new underground stone formations. Automation provides redstone helpers and pistons that can move tile entities. Tools introduces items like pickarangs, seed pouches, and pathfinder maps. The Client category handles quality-of-life improvements including inventory sorting, chest search, and a camera mode. Management covers hotbar swapping and armor rotation. Mobs adds new creatures including crabs and oretoises.

Questions about this entry.

  • How do I install Quark?

Install Forge or NeoForge for your Minecraft version. Download both Zeta and Quark from Modrinth and place both JAR files in your .minecraft/mods folder. Launch the game and use the Q button on the main menu to toggle individual features on or off.

  • Does Quark work with NeoForge?

Yes. The current Quark release targets NeoForge on Minecraft 1.21.1. Older releases cover Forge on versions back to 1.12.2. Fabric and Quilt are not supported.

  • Is Quark compatible with Fabric or Quilt?

No. Quark is built for Forge and NeoForge only. There is no Fabric or Quilt port of this mod.

  • Does Quark need to be on the server for multiplayer?

Yes. Quark requires installation on both the client and the server. Running it client-only against a server that does not have it installed will cause compatibility issues.

  • Which Minecraft versions does Quark support?

Quark has released builds for Minecraft 1.9.4 through 1.21.1. The current active build targets 1.21.1 on NeoForge. Stable older builds exist for 1.12.2, 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.19.2, and 1.20.1 on Forge.
