Sully's Mod is a Forge and NeoForge mod that adds jade equipment, new mobs and small world features, all styled to look like vanilla additions. It is required on both sides of a multiplayer setup.
Loaders and versions
- Forge: Minecraft 1.18.2 to 1.20.1. The newest build requires Blueprint; some builds for 1.19.2 to 1.20.1 require Geckolib and Blueprint; some builds for 1.18.2 to 1.19.2 require Geckolib; some builds for 1.18.2 to 1.19.1 need no dependencies.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20.1. The newest build requires Geckolib and Blueprint.
What it adds
The mod began years ago as an MCreator project under a temporary name that stuck. It was then dropped and revamped from scratch with a coding team. Sully handles art, animation, design and sound. Uraneptus, MiteBeMana and KekeCreations write the code. The stated aim is a mod that feels like an update full of assorted features, with each one balanced before it ships.
- Jade, with a jade flinger totem, a jade shield and jade horse armor
- Copper buttons
- Lanternfish, a tortoise and tortoise shell, plus piranhas and a throwing knife
- A bouldering zombie and a jungle spider
- Petrified trees and amber
- Artifacts and a selection system
The creators describe it as highly configurable. Details on each feature live in the project wiki on GitHub.
Installation
- 1.Install Forge or NeoForge for the matching release, following the Forge and NeoForge guide.
- 2.Put the mod file in the mods folder (.minecraft/mods by default), along with every library the release needs. Where the list above names GeckoLib, grab GeckoLib too. Blueprint is also required for newer releases.
- 3.Launch with the loader's profile. A host does the same, and players must match.
Questions about Sully's Mod.
5 questions
Does Sully's Mod work in multiplayer?
Yes, but it has to be installed on both sides. The host needs the mod and its required libraries, and every player who joins needs the same files. The loader must match too, so hosts and players should all use Forge or NeoForge for the same release.
Is there a backport of Sully's Mod to older releases?
The creators say a backport is not planned. The remake targets 1.20.1 and later, and the available builds currently stop at 1.20.1. Forge files reach back to 1.18.2, and those older files differ in which libraries they need. The creators will update to newer releases eventually but give no date.
Will Sully's Mod be updated for newer releases?
The creators say they will update eventually but cannot give an estimated date. The mod is still in beta, so features are added over time as the team finishes them.
Why is it called Sully's Mod?
The creator could not think of a name when starting out and used the first one that came to mind, Sully. It stuck, and many people now assume that is the creator's real name.
Where can I learn how a feature works?
The creators point players to the project wiki on GitHub first. If the wiki does not answer a question, they invite players to ask in their Discord.
