Screenshot Viewer is a screenshot viewer mod for Fabric and NeoForge that lets you browse everything you have captured without alt-tabbing to a folder. It runs on the player's side only, so it belongs on your own machine and not on a hosting setup. LGatodu47 made it, along with the CatConfigMC library it uses for settings.

Loaders and versions

  • Fabric: Minecraft 1.16.4 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • NeoForge: Minecraft 1.20 to 26.1.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • Forge: Minecraft 1.12.2 to 1.20.1, builds stopped after May 2024. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What it adds

The mod adds a screenshots management screen where you can see the screenshots you have taken. Click one to enlarge it, then use the buttons on the left and right to go to the next or previous image. It also surfaces the accidental shots you took while reaching for F3.

Settings are editable in-game through CatConfigMC, so you can adjust the mod without leaving Minecraft.

  • A button on the title screen opens the screen.
  • A button in the pause menu opens it too.
  • A key binding can be configured as a shortcut.

Installing it

  1. 1.Install Fabric or NeoForge for the release you play, following the Fabric guide or the Forge and NeoForge guide.
  2. 2.Place the mod file for that loader in the mods folder inside your .minecraft directory.
  3. 3.Launch with the loader's profile, then open the screenshots screen from the button on the title screen or in the pause menu.

Questions about Screenshot Viewer.

3 questions

How do I open the screenshot screen?

Use the button on the title screen or in the pause menu. You can also configure a key binding as a shortcut. Once the screen is open, click a screenshot to enlarge it, then use the buttons on the left and right to move to the next or previous one.

Can I install Screenshot Viewer on a multiplayer host?

No. The mod is required on the player's side and is unsupported for hosting. Install it on the machine you play on, alongside Fabric or NeoForge, because a mod runs only with the loader its build was made for.

Does Screenshot Viewer work with Forge?

Older Forge releases of the mod exist, but they ended in May 2024. Current work continues on Fabric and NeoForge, so pick one of those loaders if you want the newest release of the mod.
