SecurityCraft is a Minecraft Java mod that turns ordinary blocks into base defenses: reinforced walls that only the owner can break, motion-tracked security cameras, keycard-locked doors, and mines disguised as stone or dirt. It runs on Forge and NeoForge, and it needs to be installed on both the client and the server for its ownership and defense systems to work. SecurityCraft has no required dependencies.
What SecurityCraft adds to your base
Every block the mod places is owned by whoever placed it, and only that player can open, break, or reconfigure it by default. Reinforced versions of common vanilla blocks are unbreakable to anyone but the owner and resist vanilla pistons. Passcode-protected chests and furnaces lock out anyone without the code, and modules let a block disguise itself as something else or exempt trusted players from its restrictions.
- Security cameras and sentries for watching and holding a perimeter
- A trophy system that uses lasers to intercept incoming projectiles
- Block mines that look identical to stone, dirt, or ore until triggered
- Keycard readers and passcode locks for doors, chests, and furnaces
- An inventory scanner that can confiscate banned items on the way in
Loader and version support
SecurityCraft's two active builds do not track the same Minecraft version. The NeoForge build is the current one, reaching Minecraft 26.3 in its latest beta release. The Forge build has not shipped a new release since Minecraft 1.20.1, so a Forge player on a newer game version needs to switch to NeoForge to get the latest features and fixes.
Installing SecurityCraft on Forge or NeoForge
- 1.Install the mod loader that matches your Minecraft version: Forge for older releases, NeoForge for current ones.
- 2.Download the SecurityCraft build for your loader and Minecraft version from Modrinth.
- 3.Drop the .jar file into your instance's mods folder.
- 4.Install the same file on your server too. SecurityCraft is required on both sides for multiplayer.

Questions about SecurityCraft.
5 questions
Is the SecurityCraft mod on Google Play the same as this one?
No. The "Security Craft Mod" listing on the Google Play Store is an unofficial Android app that reuses the name, and it is not made or endorsed by SecurityCraft's developers. The real mod is a Forge and NeoForge loader mod for Minecraft Java Edition, distributed through Modrinth and CurseForge, and it does not run on a phone.
Which Minecraft version does SecurityCraft support?
It depends on the loader. The NeoForge build tracks current Minecraft releases and reaches 26.3. The Forge build has not been updated past Minecraft 1.20.1, so Forge players on a newer version need to switch loaders to get the latest features and fixes.
Does SecurityCraft need to be installed on the server?
Yes. SecurityCraft is required on both the client and the server. Its ownership system, reinforced blocks, and defense devices are enforced server-side, so a server without the mod cannot recognize who owns a block or apply any of its protections.
Does SecurityCraft need Fabric API or another mod to work?
No. SecurityCraft has no required dependencies. It only needs the matching mod loader, Forge or NeoForge, for the Minecraft version you are running. Compatibility add-ons for mods like Jade or The One Probe are optional and only add extra overlay information.
What happens if I forget a passcode on a SecurityCraft block?
Passcode-protected chests, furnaces, and doors can be bypassed with a codebreaker item, which has a one-in-three chance of success per use and only three uses total. There is no guaranteed way back in without the code, so treat the codebreaker as a last resort, not a backup plan.
