ukulib is a library mod for Minecraft Java on Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge, and it runs on the client side only. uku has developed it over the years to share code between their own mods. It adds no gameplay by itself, so you install it because another mod needs it.
Loaders and versions
- Fabric and Quilt: Minecraft 1.14.4 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
- NeoForge: Minecraft 26.1 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
What it provides
The library exists so uku does not rewrite the same plumbing for every project. It has more than 15 million downloads on Modrinth.
- A configuration system described as simple but comprehensive and powerful.
- Utilities and widgets for building config screens.
- Various Minecraft related utilities shared across uku's mods.
Installation
- 1.Install the loader that matches your setup. Our guides cover Fabric and Forge and NeoForge.
- 2.Download the mod file for your loader and Minecraft release from Modrinth.
- 3.Place it in the mods folder inside your game directory, next to the mod that depends on it.

Questions about ukulib.
3 questions
Do I need ukulib?
Only if a mod you use lists it as a requirement. ukulib is a library that supplies a config system, config screen widgets and utilities to uku's mods. It adds nothing to gameplay on its own, so installing it without a dependent mod has no visible effect.
Does ukulib work on multiplayer servers?
No. It is required on the client and unsupported on servers. Put it in your own mods folder when a client-side mod needs it, and keep it out of the mods folder of any dedicated server you run.
Which loaders does ukulib support?
ukulib is published for Fabric, Quilt and NeoForge. Its page describes it as compatible with both Fabric and NeoForge, and Quilt uses the Fabric builds. There is no Forge build listed, so pick a loader that matches the dependent mod.
