XaeroPlus is a Java mod that extends Xaero's World Map and Minimap with extra features and performance gains, aimed at anarchy networks like 2b2t. It ships for Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt from 1.19.2 to 26.3, and for Forge from 1.12.2 to 1.21.11. It runs on the player's own machine only, and hosts are unsupported.
What XaeroPlus adds
- A minimap frame-rate limiter, claimed to lift FPS by 1.5 to 3x. Locking the minimap's north gives the least visual impact.
- Adjustable minimap scaling, so more chunks are visible at once.
- NewChunks, OldChunks, portal and portal-skip highlighting on both maps. OldChunks flags terrain generated in 1.12.2 or earlier.
- Baritone integration, with goals synced as temporary waypoints and point-and-click travel.
- Waystones integration and WorldTools integration, which highlights saved chunks while a world is being saved.
- Unlocked World Map zoom, coordinate panning, follow mode, waypoint search and waypoint beacons.
Requirements by loader
You need three files in the mods folder: XaeroPlus, Xaero's World Map and Xaero's Minimap. Each XaeroPlus release matches one specific release of each Xaero mod, so check the pairing before updating. Xaero's Minimap can be swapped for BetterPVP.
- Fabric and Quilt use the same files and also need Fabric API on the newest releases.
- NeoForge needs only the two Xaero mods on the newest releases.
- Forge needs the two Xaero mods. The 1.12.2 releases also need MixinBooter.
- WorldTools is optional on all four loaders. Waystones is optional on many releases.
The feature set leans hard toward 2b2t-style exploration. Players who only want a plain map will find most of it unused.

Which loaders does XaeroPlus support?
XaeroPlus supports Fabric, NeoForge, Quilt and Forge. Fabric, NeoForge and Quilt releases span 1.19.2 to 26.3, while Forge covers 1.12.2 to 1.21.11. Quilt uses the Fabric files. All four loaders currently receive releases, and none has been dropped.
Do I need Xaero's Minimap and World Map with XaeroPlus?
Yes. XaeroPlus modifies both Xaero mods rather than replacing them, so you install three files in total. Each XaeroPlus release only works with a specific release of each Xaero mod. Xaero's Minimap can be swapped for BetterPVP if you prefer it.
Does XaeroPlus work on multiplayer servers?
It is a player-side mod, so you install it on your own machine and join hosts as normal. It is not supported on the host side, and nothing needs installing there. It is designed with anarchy networks like 2b2t in mind.
Is XaeroPlus backdoored?
We cannot offer any safety guarantee. What can be checked is that the code is public on GitHub under an MIT License, so anyone can read it. XaeroPlus is not affiliated with xaero96, and issues go to its GitHub tracker.
Does XaeroPlus improve FPS?
It includes a setting that limits how often the minimap renders, claimed to raise FPS by 1.5 to 3x. Locking the minimap's north gives the least visual impact. Results depend on your setup, and the figure is the creator's own claim.
