What Click Villagers works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Loaders | Bukkit, Folia, Paper, Purpur, Spigot |
| Minecraft versions | 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 1.21.8, 1.21.10, 1.21.11, 26.1, 26.2 |
Click Villagers lets players right-click a villager to pick it up, carry it in their hand, and place it back down wherever they want. It also resets trades, changes a villager's home biome, and claims ownership so other players cannot pick it up. Built by Clickism and released on Modrinth under GPL-3.0-only, it ships two ways: as a server plugin for Bukkit, Spigot, Paper, Purpur, and Folia, and as a client-and-server mod for Fabric and NeoForge.
Installing Click Villagers on a server
Download the build that matches your server software and drop the jar into `/plugins`, then restart. Paper, Purpur, and Folia all share the same current build and need nothing else installed. Bukkit and Spigot use an older, separate build.
Installing Click Villagers as a Fabric or NeoForge mod
Click Villagers also runs as a mod, separate from the plugin builds above. On Fabric, install Fabric API first. It is a required dependency and the mod will not load without it. NeoForge needs no extra API mod on top of the loader itself.
- Fabric: requires Fabric API, reaches Minecraft 26.2 (published June 25, 2026)
- NeoForge: no extra dependency, reaches Minecraft 1.21.11 (published June 25, 2026)
- Paper, Purpur, Folia: no extra dependency, reach Minecraft 26.2 (published June 12, 2026)
- Bukkit, Spigot: no extra dependency, reach Minecraft 1.21.10 (published November 10, 2025)
Fabric and NeoForge published new builds the same day, but they don't land on the same game version. Fabric's build reaches 26.2, a newer release than NeoForge's 1.21.11, so the two loaders are not interchangeable on the latest Minecraft drops.
Not the same project as Villager in a Bucket
Click Villagers is sometimes confused with Villager in a Bucket, a separate Minecraft project that uses a bucket item to capture a single villager. Click Villagers works differently: a bare-handed right click picks the villager up, and options include storing several in a chest, resetting trades, changing biomes, and claiming ownership. The two are unrelated codebases with different mechanics, so a build or guide for one will not work with the other.

Questions about Click Villagers.
5 questions
How do I install Click Villagers?
Download the build for your server software (Paper, Purpur, Folia, Bukkit, or Spigot) and drop the jar into your `/plugins` folder, then restart. For Fabric, install Fabric API first and place both jars in `/mods`. NeoForge needs only the Click Villagers jar itself.
Does Click Villagers work with Fabric?
Yes. The Fabric build requires Fabric API as a dependency and its current release reaches Minecraft 26.2, published June 25, 2026. The NeoForge build needs no extra API mod and tops out at 1.21.11 from the same date, a different version ceiling than Fabric.
Which Minecraft version does Click Villagers support?
It depends on the build. Paper, Purpur, and Folia reach 26.2. Bukkit and Spigot stop at 1.21.10, last published in November 2025, so they lag well behind the other server builds. Fabric reaches 26.2 and NeoForge reaches 1.21.11.
Is Click Villagers the same as Villager in a Bucket?
No, they are separate projects. Click Villagers picks villagers up with a right click and adds chest storage, trade resets, and ownership claims. Villager in a Bucket instead uses a bucket item to capture one villager at a time. The two share no code.
Where can I download Click Villagers?
Click Villagers is distributed from its official Modrinth page, with separate downloads for each server software (Paper, Purpur, Folia, Bukkit, Spigot) and for the Fabric and NeoForge mod builds.
