What Infinite Villager Trading works with.
| Platform | Java Edition |
|---|---|
| Loaders | Paper, Purpur, Spigot, Folia |
| Minecraft versions | 1.14, 1.16.5, 1.18.2, 1.20.1, 1.21.1, 26.1, 26.2 |
Infinite Villager Trading removes the built-in limit that locks a villager's trade after a set number of uses. Instead of waiting for a restock timer or breaking and replacing the villager's job block, every offer on Paper, Purpur, Spigot, and Folia servers stays available for as long as the plugin is installed. The current build, version 2.6.4, is tested across the full range from Minecraft 1.14 up to 26.2, and it ships as a single JAR with no required dependencies.
Installing Infinite Villager Trading
Download the JAR from the linked Modrinth page and drop it into the server's plugins folder, then restart or reload the server. The plugin loads automatically on Paper, Purpur, Spigot, and Folia with no separate setup, and it needs no companion plugin such as Vault or a permissions manager to function.
Configuration commands
- /instantrestock config maxTrades <number/infinite> sets how many times a trade can be used before it needs to restock.
- /instantrestock config disablePricePenalty <true/false> turns off the price increase Minecraft adds per trade on 1.18 and later.
- /instantrestock config uninstallMode <true/false> restores vanilla trade limits so the plugin can be removed cleanly.
- /instantrestock config allowTravellingMerchants <true/false> extends infinite trades to wandering traders.
- /instantrestock config villagerBlacklist <add/remove/list> <type> excludes specific villager professions from infinite trading.
- /instantrestock reload reloads the configuration file without restarting the server.
Permissions
Infinite Villager Trading uses Bukkit's native permission system rather than a dedicated permissions plugin. instantrestock.reload controls the reload command, and instantrestock.config controls every configuration command, so an admin can grant either node through vanilla operator status or any permissions manager already running on the server.
Compatibility and version support
The plugin is server-side only. It has no client component, will not load into a Fabric, Forge, or NeoForge mod list, and cannot run on a Bedrock Edition server. All four supported platforms, Paper, Purpur, Spigot, and Folia, share the same build and reach Minecraft 26.2 as of version 2.6.4, so there is no split between which server software gets the newest support.
Questions about Infinite Villager Trading.
5 questions
Does Infinite Villager Trading work with Fabric or Forge?
No. Infinite Villager Trading is a Bukkit-family server plugin for Paper, Purpur, Spigot, and Folia, distributed as a JAR that a server admin drops into the plugins folder. It is a different project from Infinite Trading, an unrelated Fabric and Forge mod by Serilum that solves the same trade-lock problem on the client and server.
Can I use Infinite Villager Trading on Bedrock Edition?
No. This plugin only runs on Java Edition server software such as Paper, Purpur, Spigot, and Folia. Bedrock Edition uses a separate engine and add-on format that cannot load Bukkit plugins, so a Bedrock server owner needs a Bedrock-specific add-on with a similar name instead.
Which server software does Infinite Villager Trading support?
Paper, Purpur, Spigot, and Folia. The current build, version 2.6.4, targets all four the same way and is tested from Minecraft 1.14 through 26.2, so most active servers can run it without a version workaround.
Does Infinite Villager Trading need a permissions plugin?
No. It ships two native Bukkit permission nodes, instantrestock.reload and instantrestock.config, so an admin can grant access through vanilla operator status or any permissions plugin already running, without installing one specifically for this plugin.
Is Infinite Villager Trading safe to install?
It is released under the MIT License with its source published on GitHub as InstantRestock, so the code is open for review. Install it from the linked Modrinth page, confirm the downloaded file matches the listed version, and keep regular server backups as with any plugin.
