Apollo is Lunar Client's server-side API, packaged as a plugin for Folia, Paper, Spigot, Bukkit, Velocity and BungeeCord. It replaces Lunar Client's legacy API and lets server owners switch on extra features for players who join with Lunar Client. Players need nothing extra.

Server software and versions

  • Folia: Minecraft 1.7.10 to 26.3. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • Bukkit, BungeeCord, Paper, Spigot and Velocity: Minecraft 1.7.10 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.

What the modules do

Apollo splits its features into modules that a server enables for Lunar Client users. Each module has its own page in the developer wiki.

  • Beam draws custom beacon-style beams to mark points of interest.
  • Border supports multiple world borders and backports newer border features to 1.7.10 players.
  • Nametag gives players unlimited lines above their heads, and Nick Hider masks a nickname.
  • Glow and Colored Fire highlight players with any colour, while Glint recolours item enchantment glints.
  • Limb hides armour pieces and body parts, and Combat removes the 1.8 hit-miss and hit-delay penalty.
  • Notification, Chat and Cooldown send Lunar Client notifications, edit chat feeds and drive the Cooldown mod.
  • Hologram backports vanilla hologram improvements to 1.7 players, while Entity, Mod Settings and Packet Enrichment cover client-side entity changes, disabling player mods and extra packet data.

Installing Apollo

Installation follows the usual routine from our guide to installing plugins. Players do not install anything and join with a normal Lunar Client.

  1. 1.Download the plugin file from Modrinth.
  2. 2.Put the .jar in the plugins folder of your Paper, Spigot, Folia or Bukkit server, or of your Velocity or BungeeCord proxy.
  3. 3.Restart the server so the modules load.
  4. 4.Read the module pages in the Apollo wiki to enable the features you want.

The newest Apollo build lists no dependencies on any supported platform.

Questions about Apollo.

4 questions

Do players need to install Apollo?

No. Apollo is installed only on the server or proxy. Players join with Lunar Client as usual, and the modules the server has enabled become available to them. The features are built for Lunar Client users, and the server owner decides which modules to enable through the Apollo wiki pages.

How do I install Apollo on my server?

Place the plugin .jar in the plugins folder of a server running Paper, Spigot, Folia or Bukkit, or of a Velocity or BungeeCord proxy, then restart. After that, enable the modules you want by following the matching pages in the Apollo developer wiki.

Does Apollo work on Folia and Velocity?

Yes. Folia and Velocity are both listed among Apollo's supported platforms, alongside Paper, Spigot, Bukkit and BungeeCord. The newest build needs no dependencies on any of them. Install it in the plugins folder of a server running the software its builds list, then restart.

Does Apollo work for players who do not use Lunar Client?

No. Apollo exists to unlock features for Lunar Client users, such as notifications, nametags, glow effects and mod controls. The modules are built around Lunar Client's own features, such as its Cooldown mod and notification display, so they are aimed at Lunar Client players only.
