SetSpawn is a server plugin for Bukkit, Paper, Purpur and Spigot that gives owners a single spawn point players can return to on command. It runs server side only, players still join with a normal client, and it ships with two commands, matching permission nodes and an editable config file. The person behind it has said no new features are planned, only version updates going forward, so what you see now is what the plugin will stay.
Server software and versions
- Bukkit, Paper, Purpur and Spigot: Minecraft 1.8 to 26.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
Commands and permissions
- /setspawn or /ss sets the spawn point, gated by the setspawn.setspawn permission node.
- /spawn or /sp teleports the player back to that point, gated by the setspawn.spawn permission node.
Owners grant setspawn.setspawn to whoever should be able to mark the spawn point, and setspawn.spawn to whoever should be able to teleport back to it.
Installation
Drop the jar into the plugins folder of a Bukkit, Paper, Purpur or Spigot server and restart it, the same routine covered in the plugin installation guide.

How do I install SetSpawn on a server
Place the jar file in the plugins folder of a Bukkit, Paper, Purpur or Spigot server, then restart the server so it loads. No dependencies are required for the current build, and no client-side installation is needed since players connect with a standard client.
What commands does SetSpawn add
It adds /setspawn (or /ss) to mark the server's spawn location, and /spawn (or /sp) so players can teleport back to it. Each command has its own permission node, setspawn.setspawn and setspawn.spawn, so owners can restrict who sets the point versus who can warp to it.
Does SetSpawn need a permissions plugin
SetSpawn ships its own permission nodes, setspawn.setspawn to mark the point and setspawn.spawn to teleport there, which owners assign to whichever ranks or players should hold them.
Will SetSpawn get new features
No. Updates now only track newer Minecraft versions rather than adding functionality, so the two commands and current config are the full feature set going forward.
Does SetSpawn support older Minecraft versions like 1.8
Yes, builds cover Bukkit, Paper, Purpur and Spigot from Minecraft 1.8 up through the newest supported release, so servers running older core versions can still use the same spawn and teleport commands.
