Waystone Warps is a waystone warps plugin for Paper, Purpur, Bukkit and Spigot that replaces plain /warp commands with physical teleport points. Players place a waystone, discover the ones other players built, and jump between them. It runs on the server side only, so players join as usual and install nothing.

Server software and versions

  • Paper and Purpur: Minecraft 1.21 to 26.1.2. The newest build needs no dependencies.
  • Bukkit and Spigot: Minecraft 1.21 to 1.21.6. The newest build needs no dependencies.

Getting started

Put the plugin file in the plugins folder and restart. If you have not done that before, the guide to installing plugins on a Paper or Spigot server covers it. After that, everything happens in the world.

  1. 1.Place a lodestone on top of a smooth stone block, then right click the lodestone.
  2. 2.Name the warp in the creation menu that opens. The management options appear once it exists.
  3. 3.Right click waystones made by other players to discover them. The particles change colour when you do.
  4. 4.Right click with a compass in hand to open the list of discovered waystones, then pick one to teleport.

What it adds

  • Physical waystone structures anchor every warp in the world.
  • Click menus manage a waystone, including renaming, icon, relocation and players.
  • Access can be private, shared with friends, or public.
  • Teleport costs can be experience, items, or an economy plugin.

Permissions and limits

Basic play works without extra plugins. Per-player and per-rank settings need Vault and a compatible permission and chat metadata provider, and LuckPerms handles both. Through that metadata you can set how many warps a player may create, what a teleport costs and how long it takes.

  • waystonewarps.create allows creating warps.
  • waystonewarps.discover allows discovering them.
  • waystonewarps.teleport allows teleporting, and waystonewarps.teleport.cooldown_bypass skips the cooldown.
  • waystonewarps.teleport.interworld allows teleporting to undiscovered warps.
  • waystonewarps.command.warpmenu opens the teleport menu by command.
  • waystonewarps.bypass.rename, waystonewarps.bypass.icon and waystonewarps.bypass.relocate allow renaming a waystone, changing its icon and relocating it.

Questions about Waystone Warps.

4 questions

How do I install Waystone Warps?

Place the plugin file from the Modrinth releases in your server's plugins folder and restart the server. Pick the release that matches your server software. Players need nothing installed, since the plugin works entirely on the server side.

Does Waystone Warps need a permissions plugin?

No, basic use works without one. For warp limits, teleport costs and timers per player or rank, you need Vault plus a compatible permission and chat metadata provider. LuckPerms is the provider the plugin's documentation uses for its examples.

How do players teleport with Waystone Warps?

A player right clicks a waystone to discover it, then right clicks with a compass in hand. A menu lists every discovered waystone, and clicking one teleports them there. Fees such as experience or items can apply if the admin enabled them.

How do I create a waystone?

Place a lodestone on top of a smooth stone block and right click the lodestone. A creation menu opens where you name the warp. Once it is established, further menus handle access, players, icon and relocation.
