The C4Music resource pack rebuilds the soundtrack around C418. It adds his unused tracks from the Volume Alpha and Beta albums and removes the music introduced after the Nether Update. It is a 16x pack for Java, applied on the player's side only.
Supported versions
- Minecraft 1.16 to 26.3. Some builds for 1.16 to 1.19.3 require Jukebox Custom Disc Fix.
What changes in the soundtrack
Music from Caves & Cliffs, The Wild Update, Trails & Tales and Tricky Trials is removed. The Nether Update tracks stay, because the creator considers them central to the ambiance of those biomes, but their weight is rebalanced.
- Added tracks include Intro, Kyoto, Équinoxe, Ki, Chris, Flake, Excuse, Door, Droopy Likes Ricochet, Beginning, Moog City, Swarms, Peanuts and mau5cave.
- Built-in support for Music Notification, Now Playing, Music Control, Mixtape and Music Identifier.
- Optional extras: a Nether add-on and a Music Discs add-on that swaps the newer records for C418 tracks.
- Acclimate by prototype464 is a middle-ground option that keeps some newer tracks and runs alone or alongside C4Music.
How to install C4Music
- 1.Get the zip from the Modrinth page and place it in the resourcepacks folder (Options > Resource Packs > Open Pack Folder).
- 2.Move the pack to the Selected side of the Resource Packs screen.
- 3.Optionally add Music Notification, one of the mods the pack has built-in support for.
Known limitations
Bedrock is not supported because of technical complications. Mods that replace music will usually ignore the pack. The Playlist mod is in a grey area, since it undoes the removals: its tracks still play naturally, alongside the new ones.
Questions about C4Music.
3 questions
Does C4Music work on Bedrock?
No. C4Music is a Java pack only, and the creator states that Bedrock is not supported because of technical complications. The pack is applied on the player's side only and servers do not support it, so Java players are the only audience for the C418 tracks it adds.
Can I use C4Music with other music resource packs?
Compatibility is not guaranteed. Packs that replace sounds.json will override each other based on list order. Packs that only add tracks and do not replace anything should be placed above C4Music so every track registers. The creator suggests choosing a single music pack.
Does C4Music remove all newer music?
It removes the tracks from Caves & Cliffs, The Wild Update, Trails & Tales and Tricky Trials. The Nether Update music is kept and rebalanced instead of deleted, because it shapes the mood of the Nether biomes.
