Fresh Textures is a 16x resource pack for Java that keeps the vanilla look but shifts the palette and modernizes the sound. It merges many community packs into one harmonious set, so you get a single pack instead of a stack of conflicting ones. It runs on the player's side only.

Supported versions

  • Minecraft 1.16 to 26.3. Some builds for 1.16 to 1.21.11 require [[EMF] Entity Model Features](/mods/entity-model-features) and [ETF] Entity Texture Features; some builds for 1.16 to 1.21.7 require [[EMF] Entity Model Features](/mods/entity-model-features), [ETF] Entity Texture Features and Variants-CIT.

What changes visually

Most textures come from Hidyk's Realm, with Hidykkk listed on the team. Torches use a 3D model adapted from Torches Reimagined, and chests come from Chests Reimagined.

  • Bows and crossbows show 3D arrows, an idea taken from Enchantment Glows.
  • The sun and moon use the cubic look of Cubic Sun & Moon.
  • Spawn eggs follow Modded Omelet's modern design.
  • Extended Lantern, Refined Enchants, Armor Trim Preview and Archery Revamped are also credited among the merged packs.
  • Brush & Juice and Retextured Minecraft also feed into the mix.

Companion mods

The creator recommends [EMF] Entity Model Features and [ETF] Entity Texture Features for full compatibility, but neither is required. For custom item textures, use CIT Resewn or, on 1.21.2 and later, Variants-CIT. Some older builds do require the entity mods, so check the requirements shown on the file you pick. The newest build requires nothing.

How to install Fresh Textures

  1. 1.Get the pack file from Modrinth and keep it as a .zip.
  2. 2.In Minecraft, open Options, then Resource Packs, then Open Pack Folder, and drop the .zip in.
  3. 3.Move Fresh Textures to the Selected side. A pack made for another release still loads but shows an incompatibility warning.

Questions about Fresh Textures.

3 questions

Does Fresh Textures need Entity Model Features and ETF?

Not for the newest build, which requires nothing. The creator recommends both mods for full compatibility, and some older builds do list them as required. Check the requirements shown on the Modrinth file you pick, since they differ between builds. CIT Resewn or Variants-CIT is also suggested.

Is Fresh Textures available for Bedrock?

No. Fresh Textures is a Java pack hosted on Modrinth, and Bedrock uses a different pack format. Java players can load the .zip through the resourcepacks folder.

Which Minecraft versions does Fresh Textures support?

Builds cover Minecraft 1.16 up to 26.3, with the newest release published in October 2026. Loading a pack made for another release still works but triggers an incompatibility warning on the Resource Packs screen.
